GoPre
###### him, the minute he left buffalo i was over him Thanks for delivering Vesey? Why? From what I can recall Darcy went for Briere first. Got a no from him. Darcy then went for Drury. Drury knew he was the second choice. May have offended him a bit. He also may have wanted to finish his career w/ a team he grew up watching. And he's now assistant gm for the Rangers. Has to be a franchise he's liked for a very long time. I have no dislike for the guy. Edited September 3, 2016 by GoPre

Rasmus_
I am over the Briere/Drury days, it's been almost a decade now. However, both were great for the franchise at that stage. Now its about Jack, Sam and ROR and company.

Eleven
This is not getting its own thread. The final Olympic qualifiers (for 2018) were determined today. Germany, Norway, and Slovenia, at the expense of Latvia, France, and Belarus. South Korea gets a team because it's hosting, and Switzerland qualified. The other seven spots are the countries you'd expect (Canada, US, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Czechia, Slovakia).

One of those moments where the host nation getting into the tournament automatically is a joke. Oh well. Now to see if the NHL sends the players. TrueBlueGED
Apparently Kris Vertseeg had insurance issues and won't be playing in Europe. Would it really be a terrible idea to bring him in on a one year vet minimum deal? If the kids beat him out then great, if not, then we aren't in a position to force them into the NHL. Montreal is still run by idiots. They need more offense not less. Buffalo and Toronto will both be harder opponents this year. Well to each their own. He will probably go somewhere on a PTO, hopefully here, and there are some reports out of Europe that he might have an injury.
Randall Flagg
I just remembered that Stralman signed in Tampa as a UFA. I hope a defenseman of his caliber hits the market again in the next couple summers, talk about an addition that would instantly transform how our defense looks. Would be pleasantly surprised if both Carrier and Bailey made the team out of camp, though. And I'd still like to see Girgensons get a sustained shot at LW on the second line.
