Size appropriate pants is the first step, and it was supposed to be implemented in time for the beginning of the season, but there were issues with manufacturers, etc.   so it was pushed back.

I also misread your post as pads and not pants.  Less dubious changing pants than pads... I do remember the pants problem. :)  It's been a rough day.  The Sabres better not let me down tonight.

Watching the Preds - Canucks game and.... DEREK GRANT JUST SCORED!  ... but it got waived off because of "the intent to blow the whistle" which is complete b.s.

Blatant example of a ref changing his mind after a lengthy review and screwing over a team. The ref never even put a whistle to his mouth and emphatically signaled good goal.  Sorry, Derek.   :(

My wife's a Detroy-It fan (and we used to live there), so I watch my share of games.  He's basically doing exactly what Hossa does for Chicago.  Power play specialist, extra guy out with the goalie pulled, designated goal scorer.  He's doing well with it.  (Kind of what Moulson was doing for the Sabres while Jack was out.)

Safe bet that the guy's having a terrific year, I'd wager.

And he's currently on a one-year deal (his previous 3 year deal was bought out by MIN), so at 33 he's playing for what is likely his final NHL contract.

I expect him to get moved to a contender (ANA? LAK? WAS?) at the deadline as he's only making $2.6mil.

Just saw some interesting stats: Vanek has 31 points in 34 games this year and his points-per-60 is second in the entire league, behind Sidney Crosby.

That was always the, dare I say, metric that I pointed to back in the day to try and show how Vanek was in an elite group of forwards in the NHL. You had to compare apples to apples with ice time, because Lindy was too big a bonehead to understand what he had in the guy. Plus, he was Austrian and apparently didn't muck and grind enough.

Zadorov with an egregious turnover late in the third gives ANA the game winner with 2min left on the clock.

Other than that, Zadorov looked solid. Delivered a few big hits, held his own in a fight, and moved the puck well.
