DEADLINE DAY -- Sabres trade speculation

I'd always hoped that Moulson would find a spot on the team.  I thought at the very least he would stay on as a power play specialist and 4th liner.  When the new regime ruined the power play, Matty Mo's days were numbered because he really didn't bring any other value to the team.  It's a shame.

It will be interesting to see if, by making room for competition, they bring up a whole fwd line from the Amerks and play them as a unit.  ERod replaces Crisco, Someone else can replace Matty Mo.  Maybe a third Amerk can get called up somehow...

I have no per se issue with the show of emotions.

But don't sulk. Go out and apply that energy.

We'll see.

This is just another in what is becoming a long string of Jack Eichel body language incidents. I understand being frustrated, but at some point the "displays of emotion" become unconvincing/unproductive.

I'm no longer convinced that Jack is earning the right to act this way.

Rumor out there Lehner and EROD for nurse.. will see

Is this a legitimate source? It looks like it's a Sabres Fan Account.

Also they are looking to add D, not trade it.

That being said as Eleven mentioned, if that's the deal there should be zero hesitation on Botterill's Part

I want that gruff veteran who's seen some things and knows what hard work and victory feels like to come in and take Jacky boy by his hand and smack some sense into him. If that doesn't work then I'm on the same page as the rest of you.

I get being bummed about your bro leaving but... time to break up the cozy family "it's ok bro, we all suck hurr hurr" petulant mentality. Smacking your sticks around and cussing is just theatrics. This is a business. Put up or shut up.

Hear, hear!

Na. I just don't like Lehner's attitude, and I think that's been a big part of what's wrong with this team

Forget anything else..the fact he is the worst goalie in NHL history in shootouts means you are giving away points during the regular season you shouldn't be...

He doesnt do enough to make up for that

So this is what constitutes a rumor. Just some fan throw against a wall. We go through this every year. It ain't a rumor if Joe blow on the internet just makes up. That's called speculation in its best form, what it really comes down to is some moron with a smart phone just making crap up. Every. Freaking. Year.

This kid has no idea what it means to show up and put professional attitude on.

Eh, he's young and just lost a good mentor on his first pro team.  http://buffalonews.com/2017/12/04/sabres-waiving-of-moulson-hits-okposo-eichel-hard/

Eichel lived with Moulson throughout his rookie season with the Sabres.

"It's tough," Eichel said. "He's a good buddy. I owe a lot to him. He's been there for me since the day I was drafted. I've obviously become very close with Matt and his family. His wife and his two kids have basically been like family to me.

"I feel for him. He's one of the best guys that you can play with. I don't think that there's a bad word to be said about him."

...

"We're obviously not in a good spot as a team with where we are," Eichel said. "Every day it's a competition, and you've got to be your best. Matt was a guy who would show up every day at the rink and be a professional. Whether it was getting on the ice early to shoot or working out or whatever, he did a lot for us, brought a good attitude. He was a great guy to have here."
