Who is Holmstrom? A guy they signed on a ATO? They need to release him immediately.

The link in the tweet said he was suspended for 8 games and he has to go to diversity training as a result of homophobic comments.

Wild game in Belleville, 6-1 Amerks late 2nd.

Peterka 2g,2a

Quinn 2g,2a

4/5 on the PP

Both are doing things rarely seen by 20 year olds in the AHL (though Quinn may be 21??).  Future is bright - KA needs ot add a legitimate goalie next near

Welcome back.

I would say plural: goalies.  Assume Anderson is retiring, Tokarski is in the AHL, and neither Pekka-Lukkonen nor Subban is ready for the NHL until proven otherwise.

Addendum: even if Anderson does not retire, assume he's going to be hurt for part of the season due to his age.

Don’t undersell UPL. He was decent in his stint on the Sabres this year. Likely because the defense in front of him was decent. The defense in front of him now belongs in the ECHL.

Darcy Kuemper would be a spectacular add - I've begged for him for years. Now, I don't know why he would sign with the Sabres but we certainly have the cash to throw at him.  Career 139 wins, 92 losses , 2.46 GAA, 0.918 S%.  And this is while playing most of his career with ARI. Sign a decent backup, or if UPL's development isn't hurt as a backup, use him in that role

Are the Amerks going to make the playoffs?

They need to keep winning. Only two teams in the division do not make the playoffs. At the moment, the Amerks are one of those (judged by points percentage).
Points percentage is calculated by dividing the total points in the PTS column with total possible points for all games played(2 pts per game).

It means the Amerks are boned. Every team they are chasing has games in hand on them. They need to win most of their remaining games to get in. It's actually quite a brawl in the division with teams separated by thousandths of a point. Not sure why (COVID probably) but AHL teams are not all playing the same number of games.

They pretty much have to win both home games against Laval (tomorrow) and Belleville (Fri). If not, then they're basically down to winning out and getting a bunch of help from Toronto and Belleville losing all their games in hand.

The extended injuries to their best forwards (Quinn, Malone, MacInnis) + Jankowski joining the Sabres for much of the season were a problem. But they have depth at forward. However, Samuelsson's takeover of the Sabres blueline has crushed Rochester (along with Fitzgerald's injury-related callup). There's no one else good enough to replace the loss of their top D-pair.

With Power in Buffalo, this looks like an argument to send Bryson and Fitzgerald down.
