dudacek Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I had noticed Ras had been very quiet this summer and thought it was kinda weird he wasn’t on the podium yesterday. How utterly terrifying. 2 Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago That is crazy! The list for a new heart is very long, luckily she was young and healthy and had some connections in the background. Rehab will take some time and there is still a life to live on immunosupressants. But considering the worst case scenario, this is a huge victory for Her. 2 1 3 Quote
Crusader1969 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago A stark reminder that hockey is just a game — never take your loved ones for granted. Wishing her and Rasmus all the best; it sounds like they both embody a true warrior spirit 5 Quote
Pimlach Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago shocking. Wishing them all the best in the recovery. Quote
GoPuckYourself Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I hope she recovers fully, scary stuff right there. 1 Quote

Mango Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I can't believe he is here. I mean this with absolutely zero judgement on Rasmus. But if this was my wife and I had "never work again money" you would be hard pressed to get me back to "the office". It certainly takes a lot of strength and resolve to show up to work thousands of miles away from your recovering wife. Edited 2 hours ago by Mango Quote
steveoath Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Awful to read. Very fortunate that a donor was found in such a short time. Family>everything. Quote
shrader Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Good lord, that thread title doesn’t even do it justice. A transplant too? Crazy. Quote

I’d be interested in yours and other MDs’ in the forum opinions on the differences between the American and European systems when it comes to organ donations, etc. I only know that Spain’s is considered an excellent system. matter2003 Posted 49 minutes ago Report Posted 49 minutes ago (edited) Wow! That is crazy...thank goodness they were able to get help for her and the procedure done. For Rasmus, I can't imagine this is not going to have long lasting effects on his mental state because it's not like she is going to be able to lead a normal life after this, and I cannot blame him one bit...nobody would be. It's going to be a tough road for both of them I am guessing. Edited 49 minutes ago by matter2003 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted 29 minutes ago Report Posted 29 minutes ago This is horrifying -- they're kids! I'm really happy she was able to get immediate treatment, and a transplant, and that they'll have the means to provide her with continuing care. I hope she makes a full recovery and a full, healthy road ahead. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted 5 minutes ago Report Posted 5 minutes ago HFS. May God bless her in her recovery. May her recovery be full and complete. 2 hours ago, LGR4GM said: Here's the link to Rasmus Dahlin's foundation: https://www.rasmusdahlinfoundation.com/giving-page-1-1 i plunked down $26. Quote
