Working for a cargo-handler at brussels airport (deskjob) , do everything from Dangerous goods, Trucks, overseeing build up for Full cargo planes + passenger flights. Many kids do not realize what they are capable of. In fact, a number of them find a talent they never knew they had. What makes the job very enjoyable is when a kid sets a personal record in their event. The smile on their face is priceless. It has nothing to do w/ what place they come in. Another great thing about coaching is the indirect message of the importance of having a strong work ethic. Sure, many kids will realize they have to have complete dedication to reach their full potential in the event(s) they participate in. After doing this, they begin to apply it other parts of their life. And yes, that includes education. Teaching/coaching is a great job to have. I just started my new position at the company as a Tech Specialist on Monday doing similar work to what I've been doing but with more of a sales angle. Generally speaking, I research markets, develop new product requirements, perform price analysis and a million other things. My job is to run my product as if I were the CEO of a company selling just my products. The only trick is that I don't get to fire people who underperform. Historically I am a tech person, done everything in IT you can think of from help desk through cloud engineering, etc. Blah blah blah. I do free lance CTO/CIO type consulting for small non-profits as well. And I coach hockey and baseball.. because the best remedy for a bad day is to coach kids. It's pretty good work if you can find it. I also retired from the AF this past December after 26 years. Working as an Operations Supervisor currently, but just interviewed for a position in St Louis as the Facilities Manager at the Missouri Veteran's Home. Wish me luck!
