Non-COVID and post-lockout seasons: 2022 COL 119 2019 STL 99 2018 WAS 105 2017 PIT 118 2016 PIT 104 2015 CHI 102 2014 LA 100 etc., and I think if you look at the runners-up, you'll see a similar pattern. Yes, there is something about their lineup that screams big and tough but mediocre skills after you get passed Bergeron, Toucan, Pasta and McAvoy. I asked the question at the start of the playoffs - Is Boston really this good and how much of their success is culture and expectations versus talent? Playoff hockey brought playoff pressure and Linus was not up to the task and neither was his defense.
