I'm too lazy to see if 7.8 million would be enough to cripple St. Louis, but I can't imagine them letting him go for any offer sheet outside the 4 first rounders They have about $10.5M in cap space. $7.8M by itself would hurt them for the next two years, but not put them over the top...until Statsny renegotiates this year and three of their defensemen renegotiate after this year. Bad teams that drafted them that pressed them into service to quickly and their personal bad attitude. Both are talented. I'm not sure, but i think the best thing for both is to go home, mature, work on their games in the KHL and then come back in 2-3 years. That said would one or both be willing to go to the AHL and work their way back up? If they were is might be interesting to give one a shot. I think Grigorenko is the better player at this point. I remember watching Yakupov in junior thinking he could be something really special. Amazing what busts can look like at lower levels. May be a little more than some would want to pay, but I believe good value for a third line center who can score 15-2- goals. I would also like to see them go after RW Brett Connolly to replace Gionta as 3rd pairing RW. Veteran who can score 10-15 goals. Could get under good contract like 4 years at 8 million. Still would like to see them move Kane or Reinhart for Dumba or Vatanen.
