I'd do that too.

I'm too lazy to see if 7.8 million would be enough to cripple St. Louis, but I can't imagine them letting him go for any offer sheet outside the 4 first rounders

They have about $10.5M in cap space.  $7.8M by itself would hurt them for the next two years, but not put them over the top...until Statsny renegotiates this year and three of their defensemen renegotiate after this year.

@PierreVLeBrun
The Alex Radulov camp has heard form 10-11 teams so far. Not planning site visits at this point; still want to keep Montreal in the mix, too

Wasn't qualified by Colorado

This is per Matt Cane

Wiercioch is projected at just over 1M per year and has generally (except last year) been a solid possession player. Could be a steal.

Eh, worse than Fedun it looks like.

@DhaliwalSports
F Nail Yakupov is a ufa, his agent Igor Larionov tells me Yakupov has intertest in signing in Vancouver. #Canucks

The hockey analyst was asked if he’d be interested in adding Yakupov.

“No. Not at all,” said a blunt Ferraro. “You could give me five names and I’ll find one for sure that I’m more interested in than Yakupov.

“I described him once as he plays like he’s being chased by bees. Looks like lots is going on – nothing ever happens. I mean, he seems like a really nice kid. Seems like he works really hard. I don’t think he gets it. I don’t think he processes the game really well.

“They tried him in Edmonton. They brought him into St. Louis last year. They tried him on every line possible, and it just didn’t work.”

Friedman guesses Islanders will take their chances signing Tavares

Ferraro was asked if he thought Yakupov simply wasn’t capable of changing his game.

“From my viewings, I just don’t see it,” he observed. “I see a talented kid. I don’t see a fast player. He looks like he’s fast, but he’s not. And that’s where honestly I say he looks like he’s chased by bees. It looks like things are going really fast, but it’s just – they’re not. He’s a shooter. He doesn’t dish the puck really well. I think he’s got limited ability to read the play, and I think that’s probably the biggest thing that I’ve seen – and I’ve seen him a lot.”

“On top of Thornton’s abilities are [Joe Thornton's] relationships with key figures in Los Angeles’ front office. He played with Kings General Manager Rob Blake in San Jose, while Senior Advisor to the General Manager/Development Mike O’Connell was Thornton’s general manager when he played in Boston.

On top of these relationships, Thornton also remains very close with Glen Murray, a figure in Los Angeles’ player development, and I’m told the two, who played together with the Bruins for three and a half seasons, regularly communicate.”

Justin Williams camp in the process of narrowing a long list of callers into a smaller group. All about the fit and chance to win.

@PierreVLeBrun
By the way, Andrei Markov (seeking 2-year deal) is representing himself in talks with the Habs. No agent.

Speaking of Grigorenko and Yakupov, both guys got the double whammy. Bad teams that drafted them that pressed them into service to quickly and their personal bad attitude.

Both are talented. I'm not sure, but i think the best thing for both is to go home, mature, work on their games in the KHL and then come back in 2-3 years. That said would one or both be willing to go to the AHL and work their way back up? If they were is might be interesting to give one a shot. I think Grigorenko is the better player at this point. Could he blossom in the AHL with the pressure off and some good coaching. He is only 23.

Grigorenko is definitely the better player at this point.  Which is hilarious.  I remember watching Yakupov in junior thinking he could be something really special.  Amazing what busts can look like at lower levels.

I think we give Bonino a three year deal for 9 mil to be our third line center and PK specialist. Take some pressure off of ROR.  May be a little more than some would want to pay, but I believe good value for a third line center who can score 15-2- goals.

I would also like to see them go after RW Brett Connolly to replace Gionta as 3rd pairing RW.  Veteran who can score 10-15 goals.  Could get under good contract like 4 years at 8 million.

Still would like to see them move Kane or Reinhart for Dumba or Vatanen.

Excellent post and this is how I hope the Sabres are thinking come July 1

Connolly re-signed with the Caps for 2 years, $3 mil.
