darksabre
Blocking shots is exciting hockey to me. As kind of an aside, is it just me or are defensemen really having a hard time getting shots through from the point these days? I can't remember the last time I saw someone just crush a laser for a goal.
Eleven
Ted Nolan? Jay McKee was my favorite player when he was here. As kind of an aside, is it just me or are defensemen really having a hard time getting shots through from the point these days? I can't remember the last time I saw someone just crush a laser for a goal. Sunday, for me.

Wyldnwoody44
Vanek looks like the lazy grimace we all know.... Its gonna be a great WCF.. The east may be boring tho.. If it's caps vs lightning however it could get exciting The west will win the cup

qwksndmonster
Total goals per 60 minutes average in the playoffs 2005-06: 5.414 2014-15: 5.316 2015-16: 4.735 The 2015-2016 season hasn't happened yet, so it'd be the 2014 playoffs and 2015 playoffs. That's depressing. And not at all surprising. Thomas Vanek has never lost a quarterfinal series. He's about to. He was terrible tonight. Probably bet on the Hawks. Claude Balls
That pucks over, give it to them! Ah that's horse-###### Worse call I've ever seen. that puck was clearly over by an inch at least. Unbelievable!!! And the NHL continues to falter.
Andrew Amerk
Johnny!!! That was an excellent goal. Still think they got jobbed on the Bennett "no goal."
Andrew Amerk
"Might be"? They've outscored them 9-1 and outshot them by 15. This series is all but over. Not anymore! Nice win by Calgary

PASabreFan
So you guys made me look up that review. Come on, that's the very definition of inconclusive. They need a camera in the crossbar or something. My suspicion, though, is that if the call had been a goal, it would have been overturned. Because NHL. For this playoffs the NHL has cameras on the goalposts.

There was a, IMO, pretty conclusive look at it from the front of the net that showed the puck and white space between it and the goal line. Could have been an optical illusion if the puck was elevated.

PASabreFan
Every hockey fan owes it to him or herself to listen to the Lightning radio crew for one period. The play by play guy, Dave Mishkin, sounds normal enough, until the Lightning score, and then he makes Rick in his prime sound like a church mouse. But the real action is on the color side. Phil Esposito is Druncle Phil, shouting random comments during the play by play. It's hilarious.

That forced excitement in the form of his screaming nonsense is so over the top imo. Maybe I'm wrong but he's one of the worst in the game. Maybe in sports. I agree Espo is a laugh
