Pimlach Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Vets slowly shake the rust off, rookies and prospects try to show something. Its an opportunity for a few players. Similar to football and baseball. Quote

PromoTheRobot Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Columbus beat St. Louis 4-1 last night at home. The Blues were playing their second road game on a back to back. The Blue Jackets will end up playing three nights in a row with these next two against the Sabres. Quote

If that. 1 Quote

JustOneParade Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I’ll be curious to see if the BJ’s play with the same physicality that their prospects showed. Is it an organizational thing? And if so, will the Sabres match? Quote

It's also going to be live if you have ESPN+. The home game vs PIT on 10/1 is also listed as being in ESPN+. The 10/3 game @PIT is supposed to be on NHLN. The home game against CBS and the two vs DET have no out of market TV that I can find. 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago So Byram, Power, Doan, Quinn, and Kulich are playing so they can run the pp2 1 1 Quote
dudacek Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) The Sabres PP2 (PP1 tonight) is a very interesting mix to me. Power, Quinn and Kulich lining up in their best roles, I've seen each be outstanding in those spots at lower levels. Byram as the bumper is odd on the surface, but given his skillset it might be inspired. Really curious to see how he does there. And given a chance to grow, Doan could be an answer for a long-time at netfront. Edited 57 minutes ago by dudacek Quote

Not sure I agree with that line of thinking Quote

Was trying to figure out why with UPL not available for however long, it was pretty much all of the bubble F's and G's but rather than going with the bubble D, they were going with 3 of the top 4 D and the 2 Russian Amerks plus Mrtka. But, wanting to run PP2 makes it make sense. Will be interesting to see how Mrtka handles himself going against a fair %age of NHLers. (Presuming C-bus's squad will be heavier on actual NHLers tonight than it will be tomorrow in Buf'lo.) Quote

The Sabres should've sent the tall squad to Columbus, then for the next CBJ matchup ice the small squad. Any self-respecting coach should've seen the potential. Thompson - Norris - Tuch Greenway - McLeod - Doan Malenstyn - Dunne - Wahlberg Geertsen - Kopff - Joshua Power - Kesselring Samuelsson - Mrtka Novikov - Komarov Leinonen, Luukkonen, Meloche vs. Benson - Östlund - Rosen Zucker - Krebs - Danforth Slaggert - Helenius - Kozak Savage - Leschyshyn - Costantini Bryson - Byram Johnson - Jones Rathbone - Metsa Levi, Lyon, Georgiev Quote
