What word would you use to describe the Buffalo Sabres this morning?

This morning I’d call myself ‘ rock hard ‘ and the Sabres ‘ something else ‘.  Still not sure what or where this incarnation of the Sabres will find itself so something else seems appropriate.

I'm sure that there is not only one word that would actually suffice is describing the Sabres. That means that the one word to describe that search could possibly be "ILLUSIVE".

They had no business winning that Pitt game.    2 reversed goals, a few goal posts, they gave up 45 shots.   UPL son that gane for then, but collectively they played like they have all season.... little attention to detail, egregious defensive lapses, unorganized.

     (2) over placement of one's performance relative to others; and

     (3) over precision in expressing unwarranted certainty in the accuracy of one's beliefs. 

Would you provide an example?

Yes. The 2023-24 Buffalo Sabres.

From the get go:

• GMKA - off season moves (lack of), thought everyone would "grow" from last year, develop from within.
• HCDG - Coach "Don't stop believin", and "all players are accountable" 
• Players - were, then the season started
• Entire Org - "we were one point out of a playoff, we are going to make the playoffs this year"

I was going to say "Perplexing" - more or less the same sentiment.  How can this team be so dominant at times, and so piss poor at others.  True "average" teams have a lot of 3-2 or 4-3 games, winning some and losing some, with lots of OT games.  Most of the losses against the top teams and wins against lesser teams.  The Sabres are not that.  They give up 9 to lowly Columbus, but beat up on Stanley Cup Champion and (at the time) 1st place Vegas.  Just very difficult to figure out.
