I'm happy Skinner found his game again.

He's finally finishing his chances again and has actually made some good passes in the offensive zone.

When he's pressuring the puck and creating turnovers and doing the weird ***** on the ice that always seems to draw penalties, he's ALMOST worth that big contract.

If no one wants him for a bag of pucks, please bench him.

Id rather watch anyone else.

Agree 💯

fixed it.

I'd rather see something along the lines of this and would look to get Oloffson off the team and bring in an actual top-6 winger this off-season with our available cap space.

An offseason to let whatever injury is nagging him heal fully might be just what he needs to re-emerge as a top-6 winger.

Also, I missed the memo: Does Olofsson have some sort of core injury that has taken away his torso-torqued shot?

All speculation.  Maybe.

These players have sucked all season. Prove me wrong!
Olofsson, Asplund, Eakin, Bjork, Hayden and Butcher. Not even gonna mention the goalies. If none of them are back next season I could care less (I know that's not possible but just saying). Asplund has 5 goals in 45 games with 16pts! He hasn't done squat here.

VO and Asplund started out alright. But have done nothing in like last 30 games

Eakin Hayden and Butcher are on expiring contracts so doubt they'll be back. Bjork could be waived at minimal cost but Asplund and Oloffson will almost definitely return.

No chance I would plan to start next year with Mitts (hasn't played at all), Rookie Quinn, and Rookie Peterka as a line.

Olofsson might have been the teams best forward in October; he was doing more than being the lethal perimeter shooter he was initially. Since he got hurt his shot has utterly disappeared, whether through injury, confidence or both. And he’s brought little to nothing else. I think he’ll bounce back, but I’m not sure if he fits what we’re building and I’m open to offers.

Players like Asplund are always going to go through droughts, but he needs to do more without the puck. Hope he’s back, still like him in the role he played with Mitts last year and Tuch/VO early on. Wish he’d kill more penalties.

Counting down the days until Eakin is gone. He was better to start the year, but is fully back to his space-filling ways.

Bjork has a contract that might mean he’s back, but he shouldn’t be. Hustle without purpose. He is where plays go to die.

Hayden has hands of stone. I like his strength on the puck and respect his effort, but we deserve better.

Butcher is another filler who should not be back.

Oloffson should never be a top six forward on any team. He's at best third line or no line. Maybe a trade piece but not sure he's that .marketable. Hope he proves me wrong of course.

Gotcha. Based on what I'm seeing (and not seeing), it sure seems that way.

Very fair take here - thanks. He *was* really good early in the season - looked like a player who had really grown and worked on his game.

He's too hot and cold or PP dependant but for now he's what they have.

Maybe someone will want him as a PP sniper/4th line depth for the playoffs but he hasn't showcased that shot for months now so it's unlikely he leaves via trade.

A better version of him is coming soon hopefully.

I wouldn’t trade VO until I see what he does next season - he was far and away our best forward to start the year. As we saw with Jack to end 18-19 and likely Skinner, even once a player is “back” from injury or suiting up apparently healed or ok, it can take a while to regain form.

Regarding healthy Olofsson being a PP specialist - it’s a myth, looking at the numbers

Last season he was second in points at even strength on the team, after Reinhart

Well, in Olofsson's defense, whatever the injury he has, Granato stated back in mid-November that the injury affects his shooting but he can do everything else.  Or words to that effect.  No idea what injury would affect that specific component of his game but not particularly affect the rest of his game.

As he was back for nearly a month before even attempting a slap shot & still not having that extremely quick release 1 timer still another month further out, expecting that injury is still bothering him even though he's had a weeks+ of rest on 2 or 3 occasions with no end in sight for the issue.  Also wonder if surgery will eventually be needed or if a full off-season of rest should fix it?

Do they think it will eventually heal itself & are having him play through it because Mittelstadt & Quinn (along w/ Hinestroza, Caggiula, & Girgensons) are out & they don't think bringing one of the other JAGs will be as effective as a clearly less than 100% Vic.  Are they having him play through it until past the trade deadline to see if he can bring something back in return?

Lot's of Q's about his curious case, not many answers.  Would really appreciate having g one of the beat "reporters" actually look into it.

Not sure if Asplund is hurt, if he's run into a wall, or if he simply isn't actually as good as he looked the 1st few weeks.  He's another one that should be playing better than he has IMHO.
