The Sabres had a few moments but I don’t recall a decent scoring chance the entire stretch of the second half of that game. Pretty frustrating.

It was an easy night for Igor. The only one that almost went in was the tipped one off of the post. Nothing else was even remotely dangerous.

Just got home from the game…..

I think the effort was there, thought Lyon played well……..BUT

Offense was non entity……Shesterkin had an easy night

This organization continues to drop the ball whenever it’s time to take another step,

tonight you had a sellout with fans ready to erupt….IT’S OPENING FREAKING NIGHT AT HOME !!!!!

The one night of the season you should come out with your hair on fire and you get shutout 🤣 just 🤣

I watched a different game and ain't interested in whatever... this is

Nobody should be in the mood for moral victories. The team has zero credit with the fans.

Couldn’t watch it live. Just finished watching the delayed recording.

Thought we came out with opening night first game jits against a Ranger team that was past that in their second game.

Came out in the 2nd and dominated the period but couldn’t score against a hot goalie. Not many rebound opportunities.

Too many shots off the net with no chance of scoring. Reminded me of last season.

Liked Krebs fighting for position at the net. Liked Zucker getting physical at the net. Hope to see more of that.

PP movement was good. Telegraph their shots from the bottom of the circles. Made it too easy for Shestrrkin.

Gave the fans one good period in the 2nd and a glimpse of what to expect this season. Fast dominant hockey.

The Sabre Dance needs to be fired off into the sun along with Kevyn.

No, as @pastajoe said it harkens back tot he classic days when they were good.

I have said before I'd update it to the Dave Edmunds Love Sculpture electric guitar version (which rocks) but even this version is nice to hear. The team however, does not in any way resemble the classic era teams. This team shows more energy and emotion in their opening line up call than they do on the ice.

Exactly, and Rob Ray with his usual post game loser talk "lots of good things in this one" . Man that's a tired and stupid refrain when they lose.

Are we for certain that KBC wasn’t built over burial grounds like highmark was? This  just can’t keep happening

Yet the Bandits lacrosse team keeps on winning the traditional Native American game there. 🤔

Lindy changes the lines a lot.  With Geertsen dressed there will be line shuffling

How does he expect these players to develop a chemistry with the constant changes?  I assume Benson was supposed to be on the top line, so when he wasn’t available, they wanted to keep the 2nd and 3rd lines intact and pulled Krebs from the 4th line?

Then it wasn’t long before they scrapped that and started mixing and matching again.

It was only the first game, but I saw nothing to get excited about, except for maybe the interest in getting physical.   I got bored with the game and started surfing on my iPad.

The new special teams coach didn’t make an impact.

I have a very short leash with this team this year. Last night didn't help. I didn't even finish watching the game.

If they don't score a few goals early against Boston, I'll likely be out before the 2nd period hits.

The Bryson-Johnson pairing was atrocious. They need to move on from Bryson. His analytics were levels below replacement value.

We knew this last year and couldn’t wait to resign him.

Crazy to wait all spring and summer for the new season.  Hearing about how opening at home is so much better than going to Germany, traveling, etc.. Then they don't even score a goal in game 1 and one of the better forwards is already injured?  This season could not have gotten off to a worse start.  Just awful.

We are less than 12 hours after the home opener...

If you look at the NHL official standings they sort the teams based on points... And then beyond that it appears as if they sort them by goal differential to break any ties at the bottom of the standings.

Again... Less than 12 hours after the home opener, the sabers are showing as team number 31 in a 32 team league.

I get it's only one game. But winning versus losing your first game of the season... Probably meant more to this fan base than any other one in the league. And what do they do? Of course lose.
