He's a starting guard with the new contract. You don't pay a backup 4M per year.

Glad to hear they’re bringing back “Rick” Bates — I credit him for helping solidify the o-line in the latter part of the season.

Beane played this masterfully, using the Bears to set a reasonable market for Bates, then pulling the rug out from under Chicago.

Lets face it. The winners in this deal are not gonna be the Joe six packs busting their ass to pay the mortgage on their tonawanda or west seneca home.

Go Bills

But they're reaping all of those intangible benefits. 🤗

It's the cost of keeping the Bills and being one of 32 NFL cities. If this was Los Angeles, then maybe the owner shells out $5B from his own pocket because he'll make it all back in a couple of years. Not here though. There is no financial incentive to operate any pro franchise in WNY without a public subsidy.

Hasn't LA lost teams multiple times?

Like paying a quarter of what that house would cost anywhere else in the US?

Just looked up sofi stadium, so profitable they needed nfl money and are begging for tax breaks.

So no you don't make 5 billion back in a couple years

You're in Rochester aren't you? We are basically looking in no-man's-land, in a circle east of batavia, south of Le Roy, west of geneseo, and north of Warsaw, including within those towns

Yeah pretty much right in the heart of the city, if you're looking out that way hopefully you won't have as bad as a market. We did have to go over asking though and wave the inspection too; got very lucky though first one we put an offer in on actually. Hopefully you guys find some similar luck 🍻

Billionaires are still gonna have their hands out because they can.

You say this like I don't know it but everyone knows that you only become a billionaire by getting handouts along the way.

I live in Amherst near the Buffalo border.  I have the cheapest house in the neighbourhood (least square footage, not brick, no updates since before 2000).  Houses here for $100k.

Lots of dairy barns you could shack up in if you don’t mind the smell.  Not alot of houses though.

We are definitely thinking of building. Found a patch of land that's been listed for a long time in the middle of nowhere that happens to be perfect for both of our commutes, might buy that now and sit in an apartment for a while to see if prices will ever go down
