GDT: Sabres @ Lightning, 7:30pm, February 21, 2019

Recommended Posts

Stop with the stupid faceoff time crap. The game broadcast starts at 730 if you don't understand that the puck doesn't get dropped until 8 minutes later that's your fault.

The Sabres take on the Lightning in Tampa. The Lightning are the best team in the NHL. They are 17 points above the 2nd best team in the NHL. They play fast and hard. They generate shots and they defend well. They have good goaltending. To win this team is going to have to do something that haven't in months, show up for 3 periods and actually stick to the game plan.

And no I don't care we started the thread before tomorrow because...

Yep. Why would you want an undefeated GDT format (when allowed to post on game day)?

I have almost no interest in watching anymore, which kind of sucks as this team was exciting for a decent chunk of the season, even when losing, I was excited to see "new" eichel and Dahlin and the new system.

Now, I've missed the last 3 (thankfully) and it hasn't inspired much in terms of excitement, oh sabres why do you do this to us.

It's the number one question asked in life, why not ask

Not only that, but he will certainly come to appreciate puck drop time as he ages.

+++++

I expect a huge win tonight.

MUST WIN!!

GO SABRES!!

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a huge win for the rest of the season.

If they win tonight in spectacular fashion with a 60 minute effort, it will just show me how bad the attitude really is on this team. Too little, too late....

Time to bring up some youth while getting a top 5 pick at the same time. Another dark and stormy please.....

Look a game.

Remember when Stamkos and Hedman were what made Tampa go?

Now they are just supporting pieces.  Think about that when you think about the journey of the Sabres.

We better start drafting better if we want that.

Maybe the Sabres should win for themselves and not rely on the random cosmic Owl flapping its wings in Buffalo to get them through it.

We might have started drafting better.  It doesn't happen overnight as you well know.

The timeline before Botterill is only there for the fans to suffer. It's not Botterill's issue. Pegula only owns back to when he bought the team. Rookie owner making rookie mistakes, the fans choose to continue the suffering.

Oh like the thread about Dahlin not being good enough?

The choice is whether or not one is a fan.  Given Sabres fandom, there is no choice, only suffering.

So, if I don't suffer I am not a fan?

My 1B and 1C teams play each other tonight. It'll be a game time decision on who I actually watch.

You like Tampa too?

No. Fans comes in all stripes. There are many people I'm sure who just enjoy following the team, hope for the best, cheer the good times and don't sweat the losing. It's all good.

This I agree with, it sucks they're losing, but I don't disown them as my team. If they don't put a product out that is good, I simply won't go out of my way to watch, it saves me 3 hours of my time, and I don't watch much TV anyways

Sabres win tonight. They come out of the locker room with the intensity and focus of a pack of rabbis wolves, stalking their prey.

From the moment the puck drops to the final buzzer, we see a Sabres team with only one thing in their mind, kill Thu enemy! They finish every check, blast shot after shot on net, clog the passing lanes, stand up the opponent at the Blue line and feed razor sharp, crisp tape to tape passes...........

My prediction is Tampa caves in Buffalos skull with a heavy rock until it doesn't much resemble a skull any longer. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
