Its not just the lack of production, it is their overall play.

McLeod, Thompson, and Tuch......it seemed to me they were clearly outplayed by Doan, Kozak and whoever else was with them (Greeway for part or the time before Ruff starting shuffling lines)

And I don't mean "hey, those 'lesser-talented' young guys looked to be playing with more energy"  I mean literally outplayed. Outpossessed, out thought (hockey IQ way) and dominated the ice more than your top line.

Ha. It was 2-1 Sabres after 2 when I had to go. Nice to see they finished strong in the 3rd.😂

Im sorry but this season is done. Cleanse this entire mess right now instead of prolonging the agony.

This must be the “Getting Adams Fired” season

Losing is corrosive. The players who have been here are dispirited. Playing for the Sabres has sucked the joy out of playing a sport that they love. You can see it in their play when dealing with adversity.

I’m hoping that the young players don’t get contaminated with this pervasive negativity. It’s so sad how a fool owner has destroyed this franchise with his horrendous staffing decisions.

What’s the solution to getting out of this deep rut? Before there can be a roster shakeup there has to be a major shakeup in the front office and coaching staff, and then give them the ability to make the personnel decisions with a fresh perspective.

The Sabres are a mocked and irrelevant franchise. I mostly blame the fool and stubborn owner.

There are a cadre of people who reflexively cite excuses for this lame franchise. I’m not one of them. This fiasco of a franchise is of its own doing. The motto of this franchise seems to be : Stupid in leads to stupid out.

Tage looked so slow from the little I saw.

Tuch couldn't handle a puck to save his life.

That D... Oof, Kesselring looked like Tyson Strachan out there.

How was Ellis overall? I saw some good stuff in the first, but was at work so I missed a lot of the game dealing with issues and then caught the last 5 min or so of the game.

Pegula doesn't care. The players know Pegula doesn't care and the players know the rest of the league laughs at them. So sad what has happened to this franchise.

He's looks better than UPL though he can overplay the puck at times. He was keeping the Sabres in it until they finally reverted back to chasing the Mammoth around the ice. This team has gotten away from the defensive game they started the season with. Now four of them chase the guy with the puck, leaving players wide open for one timers. That's pretty much how we lost. That and we couldn't connect on a breakout pass to save our life.

If there is a visual representation of full on panic on ice, it was the Sabres last night. Even when they were winning, they played like they were on the verge of collapse. Ellis saved them most of the night.

No, the injured players will return and the second half of season will see the usual decent run taking us clear of last place

They could finish LAST, but still will get hijacked from the #1 spot to another team…..who will pick McKenna.  We can’t have nice things….it’s our curse.

I think last night was a microcosmic example of what it has been like to play goal on a Lindy Ruff coached team for the last 10-11 years of his time as a HC. You can only hold the team in for so long. Eventually the breakdowns and lack of structure will wear the goalie down. That Ruff was brought in to bring structure and accountability to the on-ice portion of the organization, is clear evidence that Pegula/Adams do not know what they are doing.

It looked like they entered Alamo mode half way through the 2nd period.

It was worse than Alamo mode. They couldn't put together two passes in a row. They looked like they had no idea where their teammates were going to be. You couldn't look worse if you grabbed five guys off the street and made them play.

I wish I had tele-strater to show examples of how dysfunctional they were all night.

What has this team shown that makes you believe they could be a playoff team?

THIS particular version that lined up against the Utes - lacking their top D-man, 2 players the coach has been lining up on the top line, their steadiest vet F, and a solid 4th liner (not to mention the guy that never plays a full season that they inked into their 1C role, who they can't actually PLAN on having available on any given night) and playing in their top 6 with their best D-man out a guy that they have at least 2 guys that are better than him; not a whole lot.

Short answer of why they could be a playoff team: But the version that had most of Dahlin, Benson, Zucker, and Kulich in the lineup; saw a team that pressured their opponents at 5v5, played extremely well at  4v5, was getting excellent GTing, and was playing very close games even though they only had a functional PP for 1-1/2 games.  They couldn't win in OT to save their lives.  But dump the idiot that ran the PP and the OT and they get more points in the standings.  Even with the idiot running the PP, they'd been right on the cusp of a playoff spot.

Again, fix the coaching, and this team is a borderline playoff team.  Make a couple of good moves and it becomes a solid playoff team.

Most teams in the league are flawed.  Making the playoffs, believe it or not, isn't a major accomplishment.  It seems like one because the Sabres are the NHL's version of the NY Football J-E-S-T jest Jest JEST; but it really isn't all that impossible.

Colorado is -300 on the ML bet. Seems like a trap game.  Or it ends up 10-1. @PromoTheRobot lay the 2.5 goals for -125.

Is that English?

Boo ***** hoo. I guess once again, it’s the fans’ fault for the Sabres sucking.

Those comments make it seem both will be tough to re-sign.

I’d seriously question if I want a player with that attitude on my team
