If Power plays, that instantly makes the D pairings far better. Ik a lot are down on him but he's still a + player offensively and basically neutral defensively. I might give him Johnson instead of Timmins because Johnson can stay at home better than Timmins.

The forwards are rough. They really needed to add another piece but once again, Adams isn't good at his job and is terrible at imagining there could be an injury. That Doan line probably works if you substitute Helenius from 2027 into it, but alas.

Go Sabres. Must win.

How do other teams prepare better for injuries?  Serious question.  I've heard that we're awful at it and we suck when a key player(s) goes down. So obviously there's proof.  I just always thought the roster was so thin, every injury was exacerbated.

Is it that teams have a much better 13th or 14th forward on the roster, more/better vets in the AHL that can come right up, they'll sign a FA immediately?

Other teams add to their top 6. Imagine if we had added 1 top 6 piece, just 1.

I’m looking forward to it.  This is a good test of the team’s willingness to grind out a road win.

I saw that Ellis is projected to start tonight.  I think Lyon should get another game.

The top 6 is marginal already with McLeod and Quinn having to move up.

Any timeline on Benson being ready?

I might not be able to see this one live, but it is also a game I'm looking forward to as well.

Test their mettle and resilience and how they respond. For a large stretch of game 1 they carried the play, but with the exception of Zucker they stayed mostly away from the crease. Now, another team that is not going to want to play freewheeling open hockey awaits. Can the Sabres offense exert their will upon it? We shall see.

Boston is another team that that Sabres should be able to compete with.  Agree that hopefully they give Lyon the start rather than find out what Ellis has in the Garden.  (Still am frustrated over the decision to give Malarchuk the start in game 2 in Beantown so many years ago.  This new barn isn't as tough to win in as the old one, but still, let's not find out what Ellis can do by throwing him in there.)

And, like Liger, would rather have Johnson paired with Power rather than Timmons.  Timmons was brought in to be the 6.  Keep him there with Samuelsson.  And for the love of all things Holy, don't surprise us with Bryson getting the start over the player they refer to as RJ.

Doubt the B's are looking past anybody, but hopefully they're expecting a cakewalk.  Not happy that the Sabres are effectively walking into this game down 1-0 as it's quite likely the B's get a PP goal and the Sabres don't; but it is what it is.  Just means they need to be 2 goals better than them at even strength.  Win this, and worry about the Avs on Monday.

If they don’t win tonight, the Sabres could very easily go winless in October.
