MSG will add Shots on Goal to their Score Bug

MSG has some of the worst coverage of hockey... there's nothing "welcome" about it.

I was today years old when I learned the term “score bug”.  Sounds like another term for genital lice.

it gave me a light ick that they were taking a snarky victory lap of sorts based on nothing more than providing an element of competent production value.

Caught some highlights of Detroit on MSG.

That is a honkin' big and opaque bug. It covers a bunch of the ice. Given how the top of the hockey screen is often audience/benches (penalty boxes in Edmonton), shouldn't the bug be at the top of the screen?

I don't believe the pre-season games are MSG...so I'd expect that's not the score bug we'll see during the regular season.

That "big and opaque bug" is actually the ribbon board below the jumbotron (or whatever the monstrously big TV is officially called) that has the stats shown in rink.

Would have money on it that isn't the MSG "score bug" we'll see when they start broadcasting the RS games.
