dudacek
Was just about to post that I expected this to be the Sabres first move. Edited July 1, 2023 by dudacek
Thorny
Makes sense. Rousek back to 13th man if Olofsson stays. I could see us doing no more at forward now, even if I’d be looking to add one more depth vet
dudacek
The price surprises me. Thats a lot for a waiver pickup, no matter that he’s an actual NHLer. Guess the term makes it easier to swallow.

I can easily see Jost as the 13th with Rousek as the 3rd line winger

Would still add a depth F if one is reasonably available to help offset Quinn loss and not have to rely on Rousek with only one more injury but the signing of Jost/someone like him was strictly necessary as we didn’t have a 13th without it
tom webster
I hate this. They should be at the point that their twelfth m/thirteenth forward needs to be better. 2

For once I actually agree with you, I would have let Rousek run with it.
LabattBlue
I don’t like it, and in fact I dislike the entire 4th line! 🤢

LGR4GM
This allows them to put Krebs on the 3rd or 2nd line. I think Krebs has more to give still. No issue with this move at all. 2

DarthEbriate
With McLeod and other better FO/PK specialists available, I don't know that this makes a ton of sense. Jost has familiarity with the team and wants to be here, yes. And he is a center if horrid on faceoffs. I think a 3C/W could have been found that better fit the team's needs. All that said, this is a guy who has the skill and speed to move up the lineup for a short time (Quinn/Skinner). He's got useful flexibility, if not a dominant skill, particularly in an area they need.
pi2000
Love this signing. Now here's a guy who wants to be here, can fill a role and occasionally contribute on the scoresheet.
Zamboni
No problem with one more year of good depth, good locker room guy. Non stop hustle.
French Collection
He obviously loved his time in Buffalo to re-sign for less money. He might spend some time in the press box while Rousek/Savoie/Benson/Kulich get a look. I still want VO gone. Bring in a vet C who can win a few draws and play on the PK. Load management for KO and EJ + injuries will give the fringe guys some ice time. Save up some energy for the playoffs.
