I'm glad he's coming, but we shouldn't expect too much right away.  He's a rookie, he doesn't play a flashy game and he's probably pretty fried from an action-packed year that included traveling to China for the Olympics and the emotional roller coaster of the NCAA tournament, losing in the Frozen 4 and saying goodbye to his Michigan team.

Think rookie Aaron Ekblad, not current Cale Makar.

I thought I just posted this but somehow the thread just disappeared? Anyways....

The studio guys on ncaa last night said 8-9 Wolverines were expected to go pro. There's only 13 so who's staying?

Brisson, Edwards, Sameskevich, Beecher?

I’m very happy that he has signed.

He has not seemed on top of his game since February so I am lowering my expectations.

He is a first overall pick, so the expectations will be higher in October.

Good luck Owen and welcome to the team.

The good news is that he doesn't have to be great right away. I HCMeatballs will play him in all situations, but Power has Dahlin to tackle the PP1 responsibilities and play 23+/night and Muel to take the tough defensive assignments in front of him. Power can be a 3rd pairing D to start (which he should be in his first 90 games) while he gets up to speed and adds some muscle to his frame. He can handle a little PP2 on the side.
