Are we that loaded on offense?

It’s not about being loaded. It’s about looking at what Kahun brings to the table and considering where that fits into a lineup. We already have those guys.

He's good enough to be an NHLer, but his skill set really only translates to a top 2 line usage and on almost every roster a team will already have better options in their top 6.

A rather unusual version of a "tweener" but a tweener none-the-less.

The same Dominik Kahun the Sabres foolishly let get away last summer…?

🤐

LOL it was the same rending of garments we saw on display over Borgen.

Marginal players for Buffalo are nothing players elsewhere around the league.

Different mix of players bemoaning the 2.  Was fine w/ walking away from Kahun.  Disappointed that it looks like Borgen won't be back.  (Disappointed, not crushed.  Disappointed.)

I'd rather have Kahun and his expiring contract than Cody Eakin at 2.25 mil for another year 🤔

Would rather have Frolik & his expiring contract than Eakin.  What does the horrible acquisition of a bottom 6 player have to do with there having been a spot for Kahun at his inflated QO / expected arbitration price?

Larsson's leaving is what made room for Eakin; not Kahun's leaving.

Merely a comment on the fact that every indication was their evaluation of bottom 6 players was plain bad, and that they probably just got lucky with Kahun. All situations are also not created equal - Larsson was good here and presumably could have remained that way, regardless of his performance in Arizona, which some have called into question. Same sort of argument in reverse of the Ristolainen conversation currently.

Basically, doesn't really make much sense to "har, har" the discussion last summer over Kahun being squandered when fears of the bottom 6 being squandered are nearly always universally proven true

Yep, fits Risto's description too.

Almost should be an exemption made for that guy... just be allowed to get rid of him.

Yeah, he'll get bought out, see all of his money anyway, and then go play somewhere else and continue to get paid to do it.

He'll love Russia.

I love it.

This is a bit of a reach on my part, but imagine Boston shipping him off in a package deal similar to a ROR trade 2-3 years from now - and watch the other team be forced to eat a Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate (which is exactly what I feel like when that disaster of a trade made its results known).
