Sure, it’s a small investment, but it is also an investment in a player who has failed as an NHL player three years running. That's how I saw it, tbh -- a smart-money, low-risk, high-upside move. That's notwithstanding the struggles Ennis has had. There's still that chance he finds his form. He'll probably get his minutes against the bottom of the opponents' rosters, though, so maybe he'll put up some points for the Leafs.
