So who is the BIG name in 2018's draft?

With this team one point out of last place overall I got to thinking I have not heard about too many players in the upcoming 2018 draft. Is there anybody that stands out that may help this team? Some might say this team is beyond help right now  but nevertheless surely someone in the draft gives some reason or cause to celebrate our dreadful play and position in the standings ...apparently it's the year for defensemen...

1) Rasmus Dahlin (LHD, Sweden, Frolunda SHL)

2) Andrei Svechnikov (RW, Russia, Barrie OHL)

3) Adam Boqvist (RHD, Sweden, Brynas J20)

4) Brady Tkachuk (C/LW, USA, Boston University NCAA)

5) Filip Zadina (LW/RW, Czech Republic, Halifax QMJHL)

6) Joe Veleno (C, Canada, Saint John QMJHL)

7) Quinn Hughes (LHD, USA, NTDP U18)

8) Ryan Merkley (RHD, Canada, Guelph OHL)

9) Ty Smith (LHD, Canada, Spokane WHL)

10) Rasmus Kupari (C, Finland, Karpat Jr.)

11) Jesperi Kotkaniemi (C, Finland, Assat Liiga)

12) Bode Wilde (RHD, USA, NTDP U18)

13) Ryan McLeod (C, Canada, Mississauga OHL)

14) Barrett Hayton (C, Canada, Sault Ste. Marie OHL)

15) Jared McIsaac (LHD, Canada, Halifax QMJHL)

16) Oliver Wahlstrom (C/W, USA, NTDP U18)

17) Joel Farabee (LW, USA, NTDP U18)

It's still a lottery system so don't get your hopes up. Remember Edmonton is also a bottom feeder again.

Dahlin is the consensus #1, dynamic defenseman has been in Sweden's top league for two years as a 16 & 17 year old. He is a standout there and may be on their Olympic team. Some say he may be the best D-man in a while.

I've seen Svechnikov, Merkley, MCLeod and Hayton in the OHL. They didn't stand out in the games I watched but Svechnikov had put up good numbers prior to breaking his arm.

There are a lot of high end D-Men in this draft.

#11 and #18 appear to have the biggest names on this list. Would have to see middle names as well to be sure however.
