RIP Dry Scrape

Darren Dreger@DarrenDreger 54s55 seconds ago

More definitive word from GM meeting. Dry scrape to be scrapped as early as this wknd...in favour of full shovel crews.

They should send out all the freakin' Pegulas, Ted Black, Cliff Benson, Ken Sawyer and Craig Patrick. And Battista. How could I have forgotten him?

Biebs is used by the Leafs for in-arena promos... telling the fans to "get loud" (while standing next to Phaneuf). I just find that amusing for no particular reason.

Ahhh. Didn't recognize that as Bieber,

Dry scrape makes me think of granny porn.

Heyyyyyy....... not that there is anything wrong with that.

I guess. :bag:

We're seeing the backwards NHL in all its glory, no? They do all this summer thinking and study and GM meetings and such and decide to do the dry scrape, then scrap it (sorry) 20 games into the season. The definition of winging it, garage league-style. Did no one anticipate that there would be a delay while the ice was scraped? If humans with shovels works just as well and is quicker, why wasn't that the plan in the first place?

On top of revising the draft rules one year before said draft... yikes.

Yea, I don't get it. I thought the scrape was there to prep the ice surface and to eliminate the delay going into the shootout if necessary because they no longer resurfaced the center of the ice. I actually accepted the delay to start OT because it's like the end of any normal period and it happens in the playoffs anyway. So, now they will use a shovel crew. Will they bring out the zambonis for the shoot out?

Ahh whatever..

Letang has a stroke, Vokoun has blood clots, Maata has cancer, & now Dupuis has a blood clot in his lung, out 6 months. Heavy stuff in Pitt.

Probably from drinking too much fracking-polluted water - it's all part of Pegula's plan to get the Sabres on top at any cost.
