Regier Looking to Deal: LeBrun

That is not a horrible point. If you are starting from scratch and need a bunch of young kids brought in over 3 years and your operation has no standard set. But really.....30 of 30 is probably his only interview.

Darcy can scout and is good with numbers. He is not an invalid. He could probably make $250K somewhere as a VP of player development.

He'll definitely land a job somewhere. I don't doubt that for a second. It also wouldn't surprise me if he clawed his way back up to a GM slot. Hell, he may even succeed. The sports world is littered with cases where coaches/GMs failed at first and actually learned from it.

One word, two syllables.

Didn't know where to post this. I just spoke to a person who seems credible and is close to the situation, who tells me the Sabres are very close to trading Derek Roy to the San Jose Sharks for Tim Kennedy. Obviously, there must be more to it then this, but he has no idea what else would be added. But, he said teams have talked for several days and Sharks got Kennedy to add him to this deal.

I've been wrong before (Miller out for season rumor i posted last year), so take it for what it's worth. I just couldn't not post something like this for you guys on this great forum.

I've been thinking about this all day and couldn't wait to post it (i wasn't home earlier) but if i had a guess, it'd say Ryane Clowe + Kennedy for Roy.

First, this was definitely the right spot to post it -- not starting a new thread.

Second, if you hear something like this and you think the source is credible, I definitely think it's worth posting.

Third, I'd be amazed (and very happy) if the Sabres got Clowe for Roy.

More than likely, if this info has any credibility, Kennedy got picked up by SJ to fill the hole at LW that moving Clowe would leave. I can't see any reason why Kennedy would come here. If we wanted Kennedy we could have traded for him directly.

ETA- Oh, and Clowe-Adam-Kassian =

Someone from within SJ's org would have to be promoted into the LW spot. I can't see Kennedy being remotely relevant to an NHL roster.

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Everything else is fine, except the Kennedy part. If they were including a hometown boy in a trade simply as a way of pleasing the fans, they're still exactly where they were when Quinn was running the show.

i agree that it's an odd idea - kennedy being part of a deal for roy. but it's V-M who posted it, and he's credible (albeit, like the rest of us, not all-knowing).

i will add this, though: getting him back might not be just a please-the-local-fans transaction; he was a guy who fit and worked for lindy's team/system -- much, much more so than he did anywhere else. maybe lindy thinks there's value to having the guy back?

I like this deal if only for the one reason that it may Really piss of Brian Burke in Toronto (There are rumors he really wants to get Clowe from the Sharks cause he wants to get bigger)

Although I would love to see the Sabres try to raid the blue jackets roster and get someone like Nash if they decide to blow up their entire roster

Clowe has one more year after this year on his contract at $3.625MM per year, then he's a UFA.

It's not impossible to me that DR and LR would see value in Kennedy, especially if they're planning to unload a few forwards at the deadline and with Hecht perhaps done for the year. If the Sabres unload, say, Roy, Boyes and Gaustad, and Hecht is gone (to say nothing of unloading Stafford), that's 4+ forward slots to fill. If nothing else, Kennedy knows Lindy's system and can fill a slot cheaply for the rest of the year.

I know this has been thrown around so I'm sorry if repeating stuff but what about George Parros? we could really use some grit, and I mean real grit. Not Gaustad and McCormick poser grit. Parros is an animal. We haven't had a guy like that in a long time. He's like a better Andrew Peters. He would fit well on our fourth line.

Wouldn't make much sense for Parros to go to a rebuilding team... somewhere like Pittsburgh or Washington maybe?

I think size and toughness should be one of the first steps in "rebuilding". I hate that word. In hockey, a team should never really be in rebuilding. It doesn't take much to get a team into the top 8 in their conference. With Vanek, Myers, Pommer, Miller and the young core in Rochester that we have I wouldn't say we're rebuilding, I'd say we're trying to change the atmosphere a bit.
