Interesting.

Using this one for a look at radically different forward lines.

Is Benson injured?

Minor thing that shouldn’t affect opening night, according to Ruff

Quinn might fit the Peterka role perfectly, in that he’ll offer the same perimeter play and lack of defensive zone commitment at the position.

Not sure if it will be blacked out in Buffalo, but the game will be on NHL Network.

Appreciate the heads up.

I’d like to be proven wrong.

Okay, you're wrong.  Q.E.D.

But seriously, this is the time to try to prove you wrong; it's still preseason.

as well as lack of physicality and being really easy to play against...

Looking at those lines (and the odd flip of 2 and 3 by expected ice time)….

Man, Benson really ties the forward room together, doesn’t he?

That’s a lot to be riding on the shoulders of a 20 year-old.

That's fair.

From my perspective, if we're looking for someone to play up into the role during the regular season due to injury, Krebs looked pretty good on Wednesday which admittedly surprised me. I'd like to see him play a second time in that role to see if it was just a fluke or not. I don't really see Quinn going to corners or creating space for Norris/TT in the same way. It's why I think Benson fits on the line well. Just a complimentary role.

Wouldn't mind seeing him there with Norris and Thompson a bit more.  He's an intriguing player to put there.  When the Sabres got him, he was supposed to be a playmaker and he flashed it a very slight bit.

Gut feel is he isn't good enough to be in that role; Benson is and will be better there.  But, he was instrumental in 2 goals (granted, against the Baby Pens).  IF his forechecking and playmaking could mesh with the 2 goal scorers; that would free Benson up to end up on a different line.

They could then bump Zucker down to the line with Kulich and Quinn (or whoever forces Quinn down / out of the lineup) leaving Benson, McLeod, Tuch to be a reprise of the Drury line (a line that can score and all 3 are defensively responsible at a minimum if not down right shut down.

Again, not sure Krebs could work well enough on that top line to free a better player up to slide down the lineup.  But IF he could; well, the rest of the F's look a lot better.

Over/Under on the number of players who get injuries that put them out week to week?

I actually don’t care about any players injuries in the team outside of Tage and Rasmus.  Almost everyone of the lot can be replaced by someone else on the roster or in the AHL.
