Or a kids' game show approach: when your team's odds are reduced to 0.0, the trapdoor under your GM's feet is unlocked and they fall into a swimming pool under the floor (and are promptly rescued), OR they just get slimed. Nickelodeon could simulcast it.

6.5% chance for 1st, 6.7 for 2nd, 0.2 for 3rd, 44.4 for 7th, 36.5 for 8th, and 5.6 for 9th. San Jose has the best chance for 1st at 25.5%.

I wish the league showed it live like this when we lost McDavid. I still think it was rigged to punish the Sabres for tanking.

Yea like the NHL needs to punish the Sabres... the Sabres do a fine job punishing themselves.  If anything they probably knew the Sabres would waste McDavids career.

The smart money is on Pitt or NYR. But from a league perspective, Utah would or CBJ could really use the prospect jolt (although neither could get to #1) at least get them in front of Buffalo.

If a team outside the bottom 10 wins the first-place lottery, they only move up a max of 10 spots, so it's possible their "win" yields second place overall, and if the Sabres won the second-place lottery, they would default to #3 overall.  My limited understanding.
