The chorus from The Kings - This Beat Goes On.

Catchy, campy, upbeat, obnoxious ear worm, nobodies favorite.  I think this one fills the bill.

I voted for this, because I love your description of the song, in the poll options.  😂

PS This should have been named the goal song last time...instead of the travesty they currently are using.

🎶 ...Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah
Over the hill went the swords of a thousand men...
🎶

If they're going to do this--and it is the best of the choices if for nothing but the cheerable chorus (probably the best I can think of other than Shout!, which is taken), this cover might be better:

Individual goal songs. Like walk-up music in baseball.

I'm with you, too. There was nothing more fun than hearing the Irish jig pop on after Shanahan scored in Detroit.

It's like when Ullmark makes a big save and we get the Vince Guaraldi Trio for a moment --- those are the things the kids are going to remember.

(Plus, if the players have input, you get to know them more. They become more a part of the fabric, especially now that we're not churning for tank purposes. Even better if you get someone like me who'd be all about anything but a loud/everybody-get-up track. Lovin' Spoonful "I Didn't Want to Have to Do It" and a selected excerpt from Miles Davis ***** Brew --- yup, kids, you're gonna have to listen to some oldies when I sneak a puck through. Players could have a lot of fun with it.

Agree...this is what it should have been before,  and I still think it would be a great choice cause I can see the crowd signing it...I mean really what good is it if the crowd isn't signing or getting into it ?

If it isn’t Song 2 by Blur it isnt worthy of being a goal song.

When I hear Sabredance, I think of grainy old videotapes.

When I hear Song2 I think of jubilation and pandemonium.

That one will always be my choice

I'm going to recommend this for the Golden Knights song! It would go well in the Fortress.

Could we just let players pick their own songs and be done with it.  well, then people can criticize the players choices and not the club itself.

I coordinated the in game music for a couple years for my son's team. When you are thinking about this you need to remember, you aren't using the whole song. You maybe get 30-35 seconds of a song after a goal at most. And those 30-35 seconds include any other sound things you have going on like the horn itself. You need to be able to launch right into something catchy and upbeat and preferably with a crowd participation component to it. Chelsea Dagger caught on because of how it opened and then immediately had something the crowd could participate in loudly. People like Song 2 and I suspect the Swords of 1k Men song for the same reason. When you are trying to pick out songs thing of a song that has a fun part that about 30 seconds long that you find yourself instantly humming or singing along to when it comes on.

I'll post an example in a minute.

edit- I do have this edited up with a goal horn in front of it but it's too big to upload so you'll have to use your imagination.  Goalhorn then from about 1:30 to 1:55 in the song.  That gets you a solid 25 seconds, 2 fan partip parts, loud dancy beats, upbeat.  Again you might not like this specific example and I have others it's just the first one that popped to mind.  That is the sort of thing you are looking for. Imagine 18k people yelling out after a big goal. It would be awesome.

FWIW: Somebody mentioned Bro Hymn from Pennywise earlier.   I used that one too. This specific part

Someone needs to cut a heavy EDM version of the Sabre Dance, something like this from spotify, but less *****:

Ideally you'd want a song that's recognizable (sabre dance checks that box) and something with energy to get people jumping up & down (dirty EDM will do that).

There are sooo many good EDM drops that serve this purpose really well.

Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.

Right band, wrong song.  'When the Levee Breaks'.  It has the connotation of a Goaltender breaking down, which would lead to a 'flood' of goals - metaphorically speaking.  Psychological gamesmanship.   That, and the bassline and drums kind of  kick ass.

I’ve been singing this chorus for days now.  If I remember right, Jeremy White was the one who was touting using this as the new goal song, before they adopted “here we go now, here we go now...”

I wonder if the reason they didn’t go with this, is because the game presentation staff didn’t want to use something being pushed by a sports talk host versus something they picked on their own?

Anyways, once fans get back in the stands, I really wish they would at least give this a trial run.
