Robin Lehner injury "not short-term"

You are saying this without knowing how long Lehner is out for.  What if he's gone for the season?  Your plan would essentially write off the season.

If he is out a month I'd go with Makarov or Lieuwen.   If he is missing half the season pick up whatever of the 3 goalies Calgary sends through waivers.

Depends on Chad Johnson and Makarov. I am not writing off anything.  Wasting assets on a temp goalie is just not necessary.

I think we're in a position to be patient.  We don't have contender expectations, and the players are still gelling and learning the systems.  We can afford to give goalies in our system some early opportunities, and at the very least, examine what depth we have.

Also: Ryan Vinz.

That means either rushing Ullmark back from his injury or leaving Rochester with one goalie.

Because he could be in BFLO sooner than we think and he's susceptible to concussions. Another one leaves us without another goaltender long term.

Still doesn't make sense. No matter where he plays, if he gets another concussion he's probably done. It could happen anywhere.
