Jeanbe
I'm happy to get Jack. He is bigger and won't be moved off the puck like McDavid and has we have seen with Sam. We win this one.
PromoTheRobot
Well I think we know the lottery wasn't fixed. Why would the NHL want McDavid to fall into the black hole of hockey?
spndnchz
He refuses to sign with Edmonton and gets traded to...
kas23
EDM, first pick in 4/6 years. It's just not fair.
Marvelo
Bank on it: Buffalo never wins it all.
Neo
Well, I'm very happy with two. But, man, Edmonton. If you're picking first 4 out of 6, there's something wrong. McDavid looked less than thrilled.
Jeanbe
McDavid was acting like someone killed his dog. agree
Nitro60
The kid looked bummed. His only hope is to hold out and force a trade. Exiled to Edmonton....sucks.
smj
That's okay. We'll get the American and at least McDavid didn't go to someone in our conference. I think Eichel will have a chip on his shoulder and will always have a reason to work harder to prove he should have been number one. Sometimes that isn't a bad thing. Eichel is also bigger and stronger which is important in today's league. This is Buffalo...you knew we'd get the second pick anyway.
Claude_Verret
Bank on it: Buffalo never wins it all. Like clockwork
Taro T
So, does this mean every single forward on their team, not named Roy, is a top 2 selection? At least he's not going to TO or Filly. EICHEL!!!!!
eman
And this is why you don't tank. Jack Eichel had better be the next Modano. You are never guaranteed the #1pick. NEVER!!!!!!!!!! By the way, when is Mike Babcock coming again? Yes the Sabres have loads of young talent but I do feel this "rebuild" will now take considerably longer then expected. In Jack we trust!!!! I still do not believe Babcock sets foot in Buffalo so start looking for another coach whose last name isn't Bylsma. Calling Luke Richardson! I hope this all pans out Sabre fans or we are in for years of more pain. Not my way of building but I am no GM. I prefer the Habs, Wings, Bruins way of building. North Buffalo
McDavid was acting like someone killed his dog. So could he refuse to sign with Edmonton

The Jokeman
That's okay. We'll get the American and at least McDavid didn't go to someone in our conference. Eichel is also bigger and stronger which is important in today's league. This is Buffalo...you knew we'd get the second pick anyway. What if Edmonton stuns the hockey world and trades the pick? As they really don't need another forward. Doubtful they'd pass on McDavid but you never know.
TheMatrix31
Well I think we know the lottery wasn't fixed. Why would the NHL want McDavid to fall into the black hole of hockey? Weird, considering they've had so many top picks.

Good point. Eichel might be a better fit with Sam as he is more of a different player. Let the US-Canadian rivalry begin!
JujuFish
I'd rather the Laughs have won it than Edmonton. Seriously. 3 consecutive #1 picks, and then a 3rd overall last year. Screw them.
LGR4GM
So could he refuse to sign with Edmonton sure but he wont.

bunomatic
Thats the way the cookie crumbles. Jack Eichel it is . There's no looking back. Forward with Eichel. This kid is going to look great in a Sabres jersey and will help transform this team into a contender.
nobody
And Mike Babcock thinks 'well maybe staying in Detroit isn't so bad'
pastajoe
Oilers will probably try to trade a forward for D. There should be a rule that you can't have the 1st pick more than once every 5 years.
