Buffalo Bills 2015

Mr. Vic "my sources tell me Cassel might be the starting QB" Carucci with a couple tweets on Dareus:

#Bills have room to make a couple of roster adds & cap room to extend Marcell Dareus' deal. I'm told #Bills want that done before opener.

Hearing that if #Bills don't get a contract extension w Marcell Dareus done before opener, they will not address it during the season.

Since we know Carucci's source on the Bills like to use him as a shill, it's pretty clear these are PR games to put pressure on Dareus. If he doesn't sign a deal they can try to shame him by telling the fans "we cut Freddy for this guy and it's not enough for him".

Whatever you think of Cassel, 4.5 Mil. is way to much to spend on a third string QB. Also, I didn't know this til this week, but apparently you can carry unused cap over, so by cutting him and Freddy, amongst others, the Bills can use that cap space for Dareus, Bradham, and Gilmore next year. Interesting.

I think Cassel off the bench in the 4th quarter is infinitely better than EJ off the bench.  Just my minority opinion.

80 yard drive, no timeouts and only 1:36 to play. I'll go w/ EJ.

Video only shows the final play w/ 2 seconds left on the clock.

If I remember correctly, I think I saw that the Bills freed up over 11 mil of cap space from the roster cuts, most in the NFL. I can't find the tweet so the number may be wrong. Anyways, these cuts should directly correlate towards more re-signings than previously expected.

I can't believe the sudden amnesia on this site.

If you don't want to answer that's fine. Not really sure what I'm forgetting, though. To me, he's looked like the player he always has been which was never as bad as people here and in the media have made him out to be.

That was before he was physically and mentally broken.

That was before Marrone really began to hold him back. This preseason Manuel looked confident, had a 66.7% completion percentage and threw 4 TD's w/ no interceptions. Yes, there's a difference between preseason and regular season football, but a few of his throws were highlight worthy. Easily take him over Cassel.

He was physically broken on a sideline play a few games later.  He lost his starting gig to a vanilla QB as exciting as cucumbers in a salad and then lost his starting gig to an import.  His mechanics for throwing the football are wrong, his decision making under pressure is abysmal and he becomes reluctant to throw any pass to a guy in tight coverage.  That's what I mean.

Injuries happen and I'm sure he learned from it. IMO EJ could have gotten us to 9-7. He should have never lost his job to that vanilla QB, but I also think it was the best thing for him as he shouldn't have even seen the field yet. Everyone wants a Russell Wilson (whose total career, in my opinion, is still a question).
