  1. Thanks. I've actually been lurking for a few years now. I've been posting more on the Bills board. We caught the game against Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving. That was a fun night. Deluded myself into believing they play up to the competition. That game they played in Boston was incredible. Perhaps their best game of the year. And then the game against Toronto was another example. And of course getting bombed by Columbus further added to my delusion. Well after watching that game last night, it's pretty clear to me a coaching change is needed yet again. They can't pass, they can't dump in, they can't defend, they have no sense around the net. That's coaching. Most entertaining moments last night was on the empty net. If I have this right, Dahlin got in the way of a blast heading for the empty net. It clearly wounded him, but he couldn't get off the ice. He retreated to defend the goal. Then he tried to leave and another Boston rush forced him back toward the goal where he defended the shot. So he should be credited with a save, but probably a block. Afterwards he limped off the ice.
  2. Took the family to the game tonight. The amount of Bruins fans there was stunning. They had practically all the seats in the lower bowl surrounding the end where the Bruins shoot twice. That game was absolutely brutal to watch. Brutal.. I get Toronto fans taking over, but Boston fans? The Sabres have absolutely no clue how to execute on the power play. Zero, none, zip, nada, zilch. They just pass from player to player and never to a player in a shooting position. Ultimately, they turn the puck over as Boston challenges the puck. And then on the PK, they just sit in a box around the goalie allowing Boston to have shooting lanes. There was one moment on the PK that I saw so clearly. Buffalo had three players on their blue line as a Boston skater approached with the puck. They all fell back in unison and just let him enter the zone uncontested. So very aggravating.
  3. Definitely a lot of Sabres fans there. You can hear them on every chance.
  4. Pretty goal.. Absolute froze him and then gently slid it past him.
  5. Has been a long time since we have been able to say this..
  6. I’m going to say yes. With very little time to organize teams and a compressed schedule, any team that gets off to a good start, has a legit chance. Any team that gets off to a bad start, could be sunk. I like the veteran leadership brought in. Hope springs eternal. Let’s do this. Besides Staal owes us. Love the Hall signing.
  7. If they were somehow to find a way to beat the Pats, the goal posts are coming down. I was there the last two times (and only two times that happened to my knowledge.). That is all.. Going back on mute. Go Bills
  8. A couple of random thoughts: 1. When Eichel is on the rush, the defenders are always in retreat. Doesn't matter the team, his speed is being recognized around the league. 2. What has stood out more to me than just about anything else is the back checking this team is doing. And everyone is doing it. As a fan watching on the TV, you hope and pray that the player off camera rushing into the scene will be a good guy and more times than not lately, it is that. 3. The Risto goal through the legs, around the D man and over the shoulder of a stunned goalie has got to be the craziest/greatest goal of the year so far. 4. With each passing day, the trade of ROR for all those Blues looks more and more lopsided in Buffalo's favor. And they get a draft pick too.. That has got to be one of the best fleecings in Buffalo Sabres history. 5. Larsson of late is becoming one of my favorite players. Mixing it up with a gargantuan Thornton is another example of his pest level. Thornton is like twice his size, no matter. 6. The crowd reaction after the game was awesome. Instead of running to the parking lot, they stayed around and enjoyed it. Soaked it in.. 7. Skinner is on some kind of magical run. 8. Loved, loved, loved the coaching reaction to the win. They are usually so reserved. They were every bit as giddy as the players and fans. I think everyone associated with hockey realizes what a special run this is. 9. Bogo came so close to making it three goals for the D last night. An inch or two more of elevation would have been sweet. 10. Lastly, this run is being built on the backs of some good teams. That makes it even more impressive.
  9. Some random thoughts: It seemed like Reinhart, Tage line was on the ice all night. I jumped with joy after this one. Haven't done that since the Bills sneaking into the playoffs moment last year. They finally beat Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh. albeit a Crosby-less (the anti-Christ of hockey. I say that out of utter respect) Pittsburgh. This game signaled a changing of the guard for BOTH teams.. They were simply smothering the Burgh from mid-second on. Winning every puck battle The D is scoring, the D is scoring, the D is scoring!!!!! What a crazy fun two weeks this has been. I was at the 9-2 pasting of Ottawa (feels so good). The slip in NY and then a march up through the standings against a slate of good teams. The only thing that could have made this run better was a showdown with Toronto. That is all.
  10. Pleased. This Sabres team is being quickly recast. Will it be better? Who knows, but at least its not last year's disappointing crew.
  11. Coming out of self-imposed posting retirement for this: I have no words. My 15 year old son (who has watched his Pens and Steelers win; smart kid) watched me as I had the Ravens on one screen and the Bills on the other. Pacing wildly, speaking in tongues, jumping, groaning, swearing, and then tearing.. I'm hoarse today. He has never seen the Bills in the playoffs and what his old man does when he actually has a team to root for. I never gave up, I never will, but it is sure damn hard to be a Buffalo sports fan. One more week.. It feels good, it feels right. May modern medicine do what it takes to heal a 3-week sprain in 6 days... Peace out. Heading back into self-imposed posting retirement.
  12. I drafted both Reinhart and Eichel for one of my fantasy drafts. Last game, I finally got to play them both, as I will again, tonight. Let's hope Eichel is the tonic that solves Samson's scoring issues as well. It certainly looked great. If only Samson had buried that beautiful pass from Eichel last game... if only.... It was nice to see two legit scoring lines last game and then a real shutdown line as well. More of that please..
  13. In my Facebook feed from BuffaloBills.com Says he will play through it.
  14. 'Glassman' has a broken bone in is foot.
  15. Chain of custody rules are the same as any election, before, during and after. Would not surprise me to learn that all machines are checked for accuracy before an election.. Would not surprise me to learn that none are. It doesn't matter if you can verify it counts the ballots correctly. Pretty simple to test and prove. Get 50 Trump ballots and 50 Clinton ballots. Feed them into a machine. If it counts 50-50, keep that one in. Move on to the next one, same test. Do it until you have enough machines verified and let them count. The State of Wisconsin isn't going to game this. They're pretty pissed their credibility and impartiality is being attacked to begin with.
  16. I'm sitting on a tidy sum of $45 US implied currency. What can one do with that? Or am I effectively busted?
  17. My understanding is that the machines ARE NOT hooked to the internet, so hacking is unlikely. It is possible a machine or two did not work correctly. The easy thing to do is hand count 100 or so ballots and then enter them into a machine. If the results match, let the machine do the work.
  18. Agreed.. CNN was running the headline that Petraeus would need to tell his parole officer every time he left NC. Can you imagine that, the SoS asking for permission to travel? It is absolutely absurd, as absurd as Palin for VA.
