My interpretation was that the $76m is over the course of the investigation, if so thats 12-15 months so about $5m per month. Or more likely figure it's heavy in late January, so maybe a slow month is 1-2M and January is $40m? Ink young Parinnello (who is representing a Ruff) told Breen yesterday that hockey betting is not involved, but it was pretty soft statement. I have zero interest in any formalized gambling of any kind and I never go into a casino by my own choice. I would not even be comfortable at a $5 blackjack table. that said, i very much enjoy paying a $100 entry fee to a fantasy football league and then talking sh!t all season long with my buddies about who's doing what. that league would not be as interesting if we did it for no money, or even a more nominal amount. it's just enough to keep things interesting, as Eleven so aptly notes. and with that said, when i won the league 2 years ago, i far more enjoyed the process of winning than i did the check that was sent to me for finishing at the top. I bet a friend that I would bear everyone in the over 50 bracket and for each minute ahead I finished, he had to buy me a beer. If I were to lose, I'd have to buy him two beers for every minute I lost by. I was supremely confident. After all, how could a bunch of near senior citizens beat me in the prime of my life? I proceeded to get beat in spectacular fashion. I ran a respectable 8.5 minute mile for the race...fastest 50+ runner hit around a 6.5 minute mile.
