The album I produced made it to the round right before the finalists ('ammit!) and my brother is on this list.

A total of 10 music teachers from 10 cities across 8 states, have been announced as finalists for the Music Educator Award™ presented by the Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Museum®. In total, more than 1,989 initial nominations were submitted from all 50 states.

Dave is nominated for his work on the band Haim's album Women In Music Pt. III, including the song "The Steps," nominated for a GRAMMY in the category of Best Rock Performance. The album is also nominated for Best Album of the Year.
 
Dave won a GRAMMY in 2006 for The Flaming Lips' album At War With The Mystics, in the category of Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

More honor was brought to the School of Music when Fredonia alumni Andrew Bennett, ’08, (music ed.) and Betsy Stambach-Fuller, ’05, ’07, (music ed.) were named semifinalists for the 2020 Music Educator award. Bennett leads the music department at Fredonia Central School, and Stambach-Fuller directs Glens Falls High School's award-winning a cappella choir.
 
The first-ever recipient of the GRAMMY Music Educator Award presented in 2014 was Fredonia alumnus Kent Knappenberger, ʼ87, a teacher at Westfield Academy and Central School.
