The Sabres are going to suck me back in !

I kicked the Sabres to the curb back in December. I badly want them to clean house including the coaches, front office, etc...

I have a list a lengthy list of players that I never want to see in a Sabres uniform again(Butler, Gaustad, Grier, Niedermayer, Connolly, Hecht, Rivet & Lalime)

I have resisted any attempts to get back on the bandwagon during their Jan/Feb run until now.

Why did Myers have to score that AWESOME goal? Why did the Sabres go to Florida and pull of a sweep? I know that as soon as I climb back on the bandwagon, this streak will come to an end. How can they be winning with no centers to speak of? I don't want them trading for any rentals. The deadline has been a disaster for two years running.

Why couldn't they just pack it in and let me wait excitedly for the tpegs era to begin?

Do I dare say it...

GO SABRES!!!!!!

GO SABRES!!!!!!

Please step away from the TV and get off of the wagon sir !

I like many other long time suffering Sabre fans fully expect to have my hopes dashed on the rocks before the season is over.

Do I want changes to this team ?

Does Geico save you 15% or more on car insurance ?

Please get back under your rock before you Jinx them. :nana:

FWIW for all my years of disappointment if this season has made me realize one thing, there is not one other hockey team that I would enjoy watching in the playoffs more than Sabres even if they do lose before making it to a SC. The ownership change and some of the new kids getting a taste of Playoff hockey is good enough for me.

Oh and welcome back out of the closet true Sabre fan.

The Sabres roster really isn't that great. Speaks volumes about Ruff though. DR can be send packin' but I'd do everything in my power to keep LR.

Bag of pucks?

Sure.

I'd also accept:

- Box of tape

- Warm sixer of PBR

- Free buffet ticket for the downtown Buffalo casino

- some undeveloped property in the Love Canal area

- 15% off all purchases at Bass Pro, good only at the Downtown Buffalo location only

Aha!

And the dominoes start to topple. DD is wavering. DeLuca is thawing. PAFan is starting to admire my avatar. Kristian is holding firm but it's only a matter of time.

If the Sabres beat the Isles, and then go into the lions' den and beat the Habs, I expect a full capitulation.

BTW, your list is of course your business, but IMHO Gaustad, Hecht and based on his recent play Grier do not belong on it.

The Sabres winning is to DeLuca like what garlic is to vampires.

Disagree. I may not see eye-to-eye with him on most things regarding the sabres and the direction they should move in, but he is as much a sabres fan as me or anyone else on here. He clearly states why he feels the way he does and what he thinks should be done to improve the team. Not agreeing with him does not make him any less of a fan.

Your personal issue with him is starting to get old.

Hey, remember at the start of the year when you were so anti-Sabre and you said that the Bills season was going to be far more entertaining? What happened to that guy?

i'm always impressed when people can remember stuff like this on the board.

my wife asks me to buy a loaf of bread, quart container of milk, and a stick of butter at the store, i forget what she said before i'm out of the driveway.

Both of you misinterpret my stance.

I was not alone in being down on the Sabres, but my issue was with ownership. In fact if you look at my past posts I have been generally supportive of Lindy and Darcy, which was directly against the majority here. As for the Bills, again I usually go against the majority by trying to analyze the positive and negatives instead of just a blanket condemnation. Even at 4-12 I am upbeat on the Bills direction. And you have to admit that Fitz and Stevie Johnson have been more competitive and entertaining, so I wasn't far off-base.

I do not know DeLuca from Adam so I have no personal conflict with him. My issue comes from his incessant blind negativity. Nothing irks me more than someone who fosters negativity in a forum where we are supposed to be fans of a team. Same thing at Two Bills Drive.

Criticism is fine as long as you are being rational. But when you spend all day spinning everything to the negative, sometimes to absurd extremes, you are not adding to the discussion. You are being a prick only seeking to bring everyone's mood down.

The thing I notice about SabreSpace is that the majority think like DeLuca, which makes it a very depressing place. Further, the conversation is dominated by a dozen or so posters who tend to echo each other. My flaw is that I am drawn to challenging posters like DeLuca.

My take on the Sabres is to enjoy their success and see how far they can go. The prevailing attitude here is nothing good can ever happen and any success just leads to bigger heartache. I post here because of my years of loyalty to TBD, but honestly I wish there was a better Sabres board elsewhere.

You were never really out. You try to shut it down, but you peak at the GDT, NHL.com, etc. You watch and wait. You still moan and groan that they lose a 2-0 lead to Pittsburgh after a 10 day break. But in the end, it's a disease with no 12 step program. Being a Buffalo fan is a curse of birth. 98% of us are trapped this way. If you have voluntarily found your way to rooting for the Buffalo teams, you are insane. No test nor inkblots needed.

From where I am sitting DeLuca is being rational. In fact, he usually includes rational justification for his POV.

What most of us are calling you out for is not your stated difference of opinion with him. It is because you are frequently calling him out personally to mock him. Noone else on this board does that. There is no good reason for you to call him out in a conversation he isn't even actively participating in. And you've done it probably a half a dozen times this week alone. You really need to lay off the personal call outs.

I agree with you. I have done that. I will stop.
