SwampD Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Fun game. Someone tell Lyon to NEVER PLAY THE PUCK. It’s a complete shitshow every time he does. I think it cost him a goal, as well a few games ago. Just stay in net. Quote
PASabreFan Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago FTR while Doohickie was focused on childish word play, I was calling the victory. I shall sleep soundly tonite. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago (edited) I’d bring up and play Rosen. He’s earned an opportunity. I also don’t want Geertsen in the lineup. Edited 18 hours ago by GASabresIUFAN Quote
SwampD Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Gotta collect these points now. We’re catching a lot of these teams without their top players. They are going to get healthy and get their ***** together. The rematches are going to be much more difficult. Luckily, not tomorrow.😂 Screw you Leaves. 2 Quote

Not thrilled with the possibility he'll watch from between the pipes. Let him have Tuesday's game if you feel you must. 2 1 Quote

PromoTheRobot Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I had to catch up last night. (It's high school football season.) We are still making mistakes but, unlike before, we come back and make plays to fix them. 2 Quote
Jorcus Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago 12 hours ago, Sabres73 said: What a stupid, frustrating penalty to take at this time of the game. Because it was an Espn game I could go back and look what went wrong here. The Sabres were changing and Dahlin instead of staying behind the net and working with whomever would be coming on he pushed up the side wall. Two Leafs were in the zone and started to come at him. Two more were on his side of the ice in the neutral zone. Having no apparent outlet he does the flip. Lindy always want's them to rush out of the zone. Not sure if that's the excuse but certainly there was better play to be made from the get go. Dahlin does flip the puck way more than he should. Quote
Taro T Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago 12 hours ago, GASabresIUFAN said: I have to give Lindy, the coaching and players a great deal of credit. After the first three horrific games, this season was close to being over before it started. However they put a much better effort against Ottawa, started going to the net and got rewarded. Now 4-4. The PK looks like the PK in 2005-6 where they are aggressive and completely taking the time away. They are also finally protecting their goalie’s crease. Real progress. Good things happen when you field a team of NHL players. Now they need to play even harder tomorrow against a desperate Leafs team and get over 500. A win tomorrow should make their confidence soar. Hope Kozak is ok. He makes a huge difference defensively. Started 0-3 last year too, but it was a totally different vibe. They were playing well, but just getting OK GTing and taking badly timed penalties. This time they were playing awful hockey in front of excellent GTing. Getting better effort starting in game 4 plus putting 3 guys that will buzz the net on the PP that game too while still getting the GTing have resulted in them looking night & day better. Expect they can keep up the effort. No data on if the GTing can stay great. If they can, well the division is very middling. Tonight would be a great night to get the 1st road win. REALLY hope Ellis gets the start. Quote

Also, one must never underestimate the calmness good goaltending can add to a team, without anyone even noticing, 3 Quote
7+6=13 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago 13 hours ago, Doohickie said: I think the role players that have been brought in over the last season or two.... players with experience.... are settling the kids down. With all due respect, it has to be more than that. If this is actually true and not just a momentary thing. We've brought in experience before and we're playing (haven't actually done the math) with as much youth. It seems like this is just a better group and I hate to say it, but KA would deserve credit. Again, if this continues and the brakes are pumped. Benson, Doan Kulich and even this version of Quinn are better than Mitts, Peterka, Cozens. In several games these players held us down until some of the vets got going and made up for the Norris injury immediately. I'm not dumping on your post because I think what you brought up is definitely part of it, but it visually looks like more than that. 1 Quote
