When they get and stay above 500 and play with the effort we have seen recently nearly every night, then we can say their good. It’s also amazing what happens when you get good consistent goaltending. Fair. I think the Sabres are getting good. The biggest unknown is who will be the goaltender supporting Lyon. Next is Kesselring. What will he bring, and can it help Power to take off? That will be fun to see. Quote

Let him prove his worth. I think Ellis should have this upcoming game. He earned it. UPL had one game in Rochester. shrader Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago So who is next on the center depth chart, Helenius? What does Rochester have left if he gets called up? Quote

I think something has happened and I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, but they're definitely playing together and for each other. I think the role players that have been brought in over the last season or two.... players with experience.... are settling the kids down. 1 2 Quote

OverPowerYou Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Of the 24 periods the Sabres have played this year I’ve caught maybe 8 of them. One common thing I’ve noticed is that they aren’t afraid to drop the gloves especially in front of both nets. That goes a long way. I never would’ve thought getting rid of Peterka, Mittelstadt, Skinner and Cozens would’ve made this much of a difference. Things are looking good. Don’t get me wrong, we have a long way to go Edited 12 hours ago by OverPowerYou 3 2 Quote

Would like Benson to be more selfish in those empty net opportunities. Maybe work on being more disciplined and less penalties. Good game though. .500 team after an 0-3 start. Benson gets penalties because he is involved. He also draws penalties. 2 Quote

Flashsabre Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Kulich McLeod Östlund Krebs is the centre spine tomorrow 1 Quote
K-9 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago 9 minutes ago, shrader said: So who is next on the center depth chart, Helenius? What does Rochester have left if he gets called up? Helenius had a for point night tonight and he brings a good 4th line element much like Kozak. I think it we will see him tomorrow night. 3 minutes ago, Flashsabre said: Kulich McLeod Östlund Krebs is the centre spine tomorrow Don’t be surprised if they call up Helenius and keep Krebs on that 4th line wing where he belongs. LGR4GM Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago One thing to remember about Helenius is that he's in his 4th pro season. He played 2 years in Liiga before Rochester. 2 Quote

shrader Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago I have no issue with Helenius getting called up. I just feel for the Amerk fans if they have to watch the moose play center. Quote
ska-T Palmtown Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago I think back to the Otters game. They looked like the team of the first 3 games early on. Sluggish, no energy, sloppy passing. Claude Jeer-roo slashes Power after the play and calls him a "wet dog" (?), big scrum ... different team after that. It was like they suddenly remembered they could crash into players on the other team. Quote

The Mule we've seen the past several games can keep his contract and his job for as long as he keeps playing that way. He's playing like the guy who got called up years ago; a bit less hit happy but solid defensively and clearing pucks to better puck movers. 2 Quote
Big Guava Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Dahlin with an inexcusable play to flip a puck over the glass trying to close a game out with 5 mins to go giving the Leafs a PP, but Tuch bails him out with a SHG. Either way, your captain can't make that play. 32 minutes ago, Pimlach said: Benson gets penalties because he is involved. He also draws penalties. And he is turning into an assist machine. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago They showed some potential here. Still too many defensive lapses and errors, some sloppy, but overall they played even with the Leafs and better at times. The thing I liked the least was the 5 on 3 PP. They need to sit down and redesign it because this plan is dumb. It's all high shot to Tage or Dahlin. The net front guy is fine but the other two wingers are basically doing nothing so it's like an open ice 3 on 3. They need more cross ice and behind the net to make the triangle defending break down. It's a bad design. Really though, what's not to like? Beat the Leafs. Beat them again and we can all fool ourselves into thinking this is a good team. 1 1 Quote

Im cutting Dahlin some slack given his personal life... he is playing with a heavy heart... gotta be aching with his wife's health issues. 3 Quote

Doohickie Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago (edited) So just after the game ended, a thunderstorm blew through. We lost power for a few minutes, then it came back on. While it was out the wind was really blowing and swirling. Apparently there was a tornado (circled in blue) less then three miles from our house (pink dot). The direction the storm has been moving could have placed it right over our house as it was forming. Edited 11 hours ago by Doohickie Quote
