Per Alan Pergament at The Buffalo News.

"The Buffalo Sabres are making a key television lineup change next season.

Joe Pinter, who has been producing Sabres’ games since 2002 and has been working for the team for 37 years through when games were carried on WUTV (Channel 29) and WNYO-TV (Channel 49), was told recently that his services are no longer needed.

Pinter declined comment.

His replacement hasn't been named but the job has been posted.

According to sources, some members of Sabres management believe the television coverage has been too critical.

It is a laughable claim since the team has been on a 14-year Stanley Cup playoff drought  ... ."

If this is the kind of business stuff that Pete G. signs off on, he can go get wrecked as well.

Too critical? They suck. That said, I always felt the coverage was one big giant bj for the team. How *****

What, exactly, does uncritical Brian Duff look like?

I guess Biron will have to go elsewhere because he won't be able to break down the play in between periods with any sense of integrity (if they have a poor period).

One note: Living out of market and being able to watch the opposition broadcasts on ESPN+ is very helpful. But, you know, those broadcasts are critical of the Sabres, too.

(also, you could do this within market with VPNs, etc.)

Post this one in the "Beane is the most sensitive GM in the NFL" thread on TBD.

I think we have the most sensitive owner, whose lucky to be in a small market. And it makes people who are normally suited for their roles thin skinned.

God I HATE Terrance Pegula.

i've tried. it must take next-level skills, as the ESPN+ app tells me: you're trying to use a VPN, aren't you? no dice, suckah.

Yeah, they’re on to VPN and no how to shut that down.

Hopefully there’s something big coming today and this story is just out there to get buried quickly

Then again, it’d be kind of fitting for this to be the biggest Sabres news to come out on a July 1

Maybe if they start winning... Sabres management seems to be more interested in things said about them than actual hockey decisions.

Terry Pegula has always been the same guy. Remember when he met with the Buffalo News editorial team in February 2011?

One of the principal points he wanted to make to them: You're too critical of the hockey team. Be nicer, be more positive, and they'll play better.

He advised the newspaper to encourage the Sabres' success (in pro hockey) in the same way that the Pegulas encourage the success of their daughter Jessica (in pro tennis).

Bizarre.

Terry and Adams are thinned skinned little kids... if true.

Yeah.  This is embarrassing and shines a light on what Terry is really concerned about. Perception.  Not reality.
