Thorny Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago One thing I can't stand is how revisionist some media members are. “Well you hated the Savoie trade so shut up” isn’t a good argument. ^99/100 sabres fans 2 Quote
Flashsabre Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago There were a ton of whispers about the dressing room having guys with bad attitudes not focused on the right things. I think Cozens and JJ were two main culprits that Lindy weeded out. Interesting to see who else moves. I think Quinn might be on the outs too. 4 Quote

Like I get I am exaggerating in that plenty were questioning it, but a TON liked it and a lot of those people REALLY liked it. I hate this weird default that all the fans that are unhappy with the team are disingenuous losers who are just pretending to be mad for clout. Why would I/we praise the Savoie trade then? We weren’t hesitant to praise Adams when we THOUGHT he was doing something in the name of winning - why does the argument exist we’d be unhappy still if we actually did win? It’s nonsensical and I just proved it He and others just want to see the fans as an irrationally angry monolith that has no right to be angry cause they couldn’t do better (than professionals) anyway and they are just lying about wanting the base minimum success, and complain just to complain, who complain just because “it makes sense to assume the worst with the sabres” as I SO often see mentioned here by a lot of people no - we aren’t assuming the worst, the transactions and practices have certain patterns we pick up on a pick for player broke trend - praise if we don’t trade Byram for an underutilized shoot first forward with upside I’ll be happy Edited 4 hours ago by Thorny 3 Quote
MISabresFan Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Trade a top line player in return for a 3rd line defenseman and 4th line player. It is hard to find good players in any professional sport. Buffalo traded a good player. Quote

Nigh all fans liked the idea of trading a prospect for a NHLer but it was a toss up on value given versus received. 1 Quote

Top line player with bad analytics (and really bad analytics without tage) for a 2ND line dman and a 3rd/4th line player with elite forechecking analytics. I’m the first to admit I didn’t like the trade but then I researched it and it makes sense. Scoring a ton is great unless you’re getting scored on even more when you’re on the ice 1 minute ago, SabresBillsFan said: Robertson isn’t that fast of a skater, just giving everyone a heads up! Yep but that’s not needed as tage drives the play. Robertson is an elite defensive forward who also would get 100 points with tage. I give whatever is needed to get him but I highly doubt Dallas trades him 1 1 Quote

Growing up around the NHL helps in that regard, but he also sounds intelligent. I like hearing that fans will love Kesselring first as a person then as a player. He also sounds like there is some leadership inside and he admits being a hockey nerd. 3 Quote
COSabreFan Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Must have been bad behind the scenes to trade one of your top line wingers for a 3rd line defenseman and 4th line forward from a expansion team. I hope JJ knows about the drinking scene in state of Utah. Quote

I have a better idea, how about i just confirm my initial statement without you misinterpreting it. Eichel, ROR, Reinhart, Montour played well in Buffalo and didn't regress once they left. 1 1 Quote

Not sure JJ will continue at a 14% shooting rate either or put up the points he did last year with a C not as good as tage?? Quote

I think there is a curve with most Sabres transactions. Big time negative reactions out of the box, then once folks analyze what happened, it calms down. But I do recall a lot of "WTF are the Sabres doing" right off on social media over trading Savoie. Edited 3 hours ago by PromoTheRobot 2 Quote
