As a product of the West side and Elmwood/Allen in a Gabe's Gate guy through and through.

I think they run on like 1 or 2 fryers. If you haven't noticed their kitchen is basically a closet. So depending on the day they either pull early to keep up with demand or the oil has cooled.

Gabe's sauce is better than Bar Bill for a traditional hot wing. But Bar Bill has a more consistent/better cook.

I love(d) Gabriel's Gate.

Maybe I love The Concept of The Gate? (Gates Orlando?!)

I'm not sure when exactly things changed there, but the consistency with wings is just lacking. The Gate used to be my go-to for out of towners who wanted an authentic wing experience. But, like I said, "YMMV" in recent times.

The vibes in there are still good. And the grub is generally solid.

At the risk of derailing the thread: My current go-to for wings is Adolf's in the First Ward. I just love that joint.

Elmo’s is surprisingly good too.

So I’m worried they’ll go after Lou as GM.  I really hope they don’t. He’ll sell too many assets and prospects for my liking.

I would say this... I wouldnt worry about them going outside the organization... that to me is highly unlikely... I think they simply do absolutely nothing... or they just juggle internally and like I said before, trot out the pig, slap some lipstick on it and call it progress...  Going outside the organization and getting an experience professional with a serious track record to me is the absolute best case.. Like I dont care if they made you GM... lol... or me for that matter... anything to get out of this incestuous cesspool of cronyism and blight...  ok maybe not you or I, but geez... the concept of lets promote from within the most dysfunctional sports organization I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing to me just doesnt do it...

Heard KA is no longer the GM, but staying with the org. Other changes are happening as well. FWIW.

There’s something inherently more trustable about a guy with barely any posts

everyone else for example has already read too much of my bullsh*t to take anything I say seriously

We’ll be getting a Friday afternoon press release treatment.

Sabres reorganize hockey department.

The Buffalo Sabres are proud to announce a new structure for their hockey department.

Kevyn Adams has been named senior vice-president of hockey operations, where he will continue to work closely with Terry Pegula as a liaison with the hockey department and have increased responsibilities for representing the team at the board of governors level.

Jason Karmanos has been named general manager and will oversee the hockey department working closely with Kevyn and head coach Lindy Ruff, who has added the title of senior advisor to his portfolio.

We are also pleased to announce the promotion of vice-president of hockey analytics Sam Ventura to assistant general manager, and the reassignment of Matt Ellis to the position of assistant director of pro scouting

All 5 men have long, distinguished careers in hockey and are dedicated to the success of the Buffalo Sabres, on and off the ice.

The Sabres have also announced the departures of Marty Wilford and Mike Bales from the team’s coaching staff. The search for new assistant coaches is underway.

The team will schedule media availability next week.

I will be shocked if it is significantly different.

I'm working and can't do more than glance at things and follow up on social media...

Is the above actually happening and its about ready to get released? Or is that just something you are 'hoping'?

It is my prediction.

So basically the same ***** 🙄,  repackaged; and everyone knows it's the exact same thing.  Why do we even bother hoping for a lobotomy of Pegula's front cortex!¡!   Expect the same stereotypical outcome this offseason.   Spin Pegula Spin!!!

Exactly, pull the pig out of the corral, pop some lipstick on it and celebrate change!

It’s a mark of how much I fear nothing happening at all that I’ll gladly take that

The prediction was so plausible (both in style and substance) that I had to do a double-take, and then a triple-take.

Bravo.

Sounds legit to me. Sadly I will be surprised if there is even that much change. We can only hope for actual meaningful changes. The only thing ka should be in charge of is getting sabertooths outfit cleaned

I doubt they change anything substantial. Behind the scenes Terry might be telling Kevyn to listen to Ruff more and get him what he wants but overall I think they are going to roll with the idea that Levi will save them and that's all they need. They see Calgary almost getting in with Wolf and they think they are better than Calgary so that's all it will take.

They are idiots.

I would rather they sent a press release with two columns. One has all the names of current employees and the other one has a list of job titles.

It is our job as fans to try and connect the employee with his or her new job title by drawing lines between the 2 columns. Make it interactive 😁

This is probably it, but Adams will be VP not Sr VP, lets save that promotion for later.

To see a person (Adams) that failed massively now get promoted is disheartening.  He was loyal to the boss man so the  Peter Principle works again.

The only way this could improve the team is if Lindy and Karmanos are better at targeting which players to acquire, and that Karmanos can actually make trades and pull it off.

Need to see Appert gone too.

Well, if we're going with places nobody has ever visited or heard of, better wings than from any of those places already mentioned come out of my kitchen (and campground as the case may be).  😉

So, I've been pretty checked out on the Sabres, but I am interested in whether anything significant happens in the organization.

It sounds like TP and KA had a meeting on Sunday -- i.e. 5 days ago -- but there's been no announcement of any change.

It also sounds like the consensus here is that either nothing will change or, best case, KA is kicked upstairs and Karmanos is named GM, with Lindy having a greater say in matters.

Serious question:  could the lack of an announcement portend greater changes?  TP has never kicked anyone upstairs before.  Just the opposite -- he gets fed up and fires everyone, damn the torpedoes.

We're still early in the playoffs, i.e. well before the draft and the FA season.  Is it possible that TP wants to see who from around the NHL becomes available from teams that get knocked out of the playoffs so he can maybe hire someone with a real resume and not just shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic?

With each passing day, does that outcome become more likely?

(...he said bravely.)
