The genius KA waives a 3rd player who he retained/re-signed who any observer of the Sabres knew should have been sent packing this off-season. The Sabres are now paying over $5 mill to Jost, Bryson and Stillman to play for the Amerks.  That’s $5 mill that could have been used on players who could have improved the roster.

Just further evidence that Adams has no idea how to build a championship roster.  Add those three to the retention of Z and KO and you have to wonder if this team will ever turn the corner under its current leadership.

Yup. It's the cost of a Compher (granted, probably don't want that $/term if you're going to re-sign Mitts, but as an example) or both of Colton and Frederic.

And just wait until they waive Comrie.  Then we’ll have $7 mill invested in players playing for the Amerks. Add the $5 mill we are paying Z and KO with nearly $8 mill in cap space and you have $20 mill that if spent wisely could have made this team a true contender.

This team needs better pro scouts.

….and that’s an understatement.

I just read a News article about the Jost waiver.  Here is what the News wrote about who KA listens to about pro players.

The Sabres recently hired longtime NCAA assistant coach Brad Dexter as a pro scout, though he hasn’t been involved in pro hockey in 22 years. Otherwise, Adams relies on Crowe, Granato, Amerks coach Seth Appert, associate general manager Jason Karmanos and the analytics staff to scout possible free-agent, trade and waiver acquisitions.

To further add to his terrible signings, he then doubled up on terrible defensemen in Clifton/E. Johnson.

Jost had a good game for the Amerks tonight. Other than taking an early penalty he finished with 1G and 1A, and earned 2nd star in a losing effort. After Rochester's hot start to the season they are fading fast and are now at 500. They play just like the Sabres. Pass, pass, pass and never shoot the f'n puck. D is horrible and the goalies are complete garbage. All Hershey's goals came from shooting the puck on net and not farting around with it. Kulich is a huge loss right now.

Just like the Sabres the Amerks have no answer at goalie and poor defense.... Looking at the lineup it looks like every player is 5'11" or smaller and 180 lbs or lighter accept a select few.

Because they aren't drafting big/heavy guys or an abundance of goaltenders. They have 3 goalies up along with their only good D prospect. Savoie and Östlund are small as well. It's what they do.
