The 33-year-old has one point in 15 games this season. This is a big loss to the Penguins who are already without P.O. Joseph on their blueline as Joseph is listed on the injured reserve. Rickard Rakell missed practice and is expected to be out ‘longer term’ with an upper-body injury. Rakell has four assists in 17 games this season. Bryan Rust took the ice prior to the morning practice, but left just moments later; Sullivan stated Rust is being evaluated for a lower-body injury. thewookie1 Posted November 24, 2023 Report Share Posted November 24, 2023 Definitely feels like they are unsure what to do in regards to Ryan Johnson; he's certainly NHL capable but they value Erik Johnson's veteran presence, analytics be damned. Unlike some of you, I don't see Erik Johnson as some sort of detriment; he's far from perfect but he also certainly brings an element of savviness to his game to help make up for some of his faults. Benson is a Catch-22, if we keep him he won't be physically ready but still effective. GASabresIUFAN Posted November 24, 2023 Report Share Posted November 24, 2023 This 11-7 crap has to go. DG needs to find 4 lines and stick with them. He also needs to play 3 consistent D pairs. The guys need to develop some chemistry so that the team can develop some consistency. Send Levi and Krebs down. Bring up Kulich and Rosen. KA go get a center. I’d also send Benson back to juniors. He needs more physical development to survive in the NHL. The sad truth is that this season is already hanging by a thread. Last season, only one team in the East not in a playoff spot (Fla) played their way in.
