TRADE: Sabres acquire Jeff Skinner

Recommended Posts

-27 last year... oh boy.    TRpm is roughly -19....  brutal.

That's Okposian bad.

Maybe the Houslian plan is to put them on the same line.

Dude is an abomination neutral zone and defense, has little to no heart, but scores a ton...he's the opposite not RoR

If he fits in and we sign him for longer it's a total steal

If we still suck and we trade him at the deadline for less than this it'll look pretty dumb.

I think it'll be a good fit.

I'd still rather have O'Reilly, but a guy who is capable of 30+ goals is fine with me.

lol wtf

PU was one of our better prospects, but I guess we already got a lot of centers.   We really didn't give much up for Skinner though.

Hope we can sign him to a longer deal, but if he had to waive his NMC, I guess we have a shot.

Skinner will score 40 playing with Jack.  No RW sucks after Samson

Let's indulge for a moment and say Thompson pans out as a legitimate top 6 trigger man:

Skinner - Eichel - Thompson

Sheary - Mittelstadt - Reinhart

It's going to be a formidable top 6 in short order. And that's without a Nylander or Olofsson finding a way to make it, and of course, them making it is not out of the realm of possibility.

His corsi is good but his zone starts are like 60% offensive zone so

Yeah, he's not big on the assist department, but he can put up the goals.

Looks to be consistently healthy too

And has speed...two elements that this team sorely needs.

How do we know that TM didn’t make this trade?  We still have all three 2019 1sts.

With Oglevie, Asplund, Davidsson, Nylander and Olofsson in the fold, Pu was expendable.

How is he in the neutral and d zone? I'm not expecting Kopitar, but it would be nice if he wasn't early Ovechkin bad

Expires after this season. He had a full no-movement clause, so he had to approve this one. Hope that's an indication a contract will be next.

He’s got to be thrilled to have an elite center leading up to his next contract.

If he and Eichel can find chemistry, this will be awesome.

If Eichel can't continue improving in the defensive zone, this has the makings of a truly "high event" line.

Building a team that plays to Housleys strengths.

Hopefully Botts can extend him before season starts.

Thinking 6years, $ 7million.

If I'm Skinner's agent I tell him, "don't sign anything until you score 85 goals on Jack's wing this season"
