If they want to call it 2nd line, no biggie. It's just semantics. But O'Reilly's line will be playing more 5v5 time than Mittelstadt's will. To me, the line that plays 2nd most is the 2nd line, regardless of whether it's the 2nd "scoring line" (does a team w/ as few goals as the Sabres even have 1 of those?) or the traditional checking line. Reality check, we don't even know if this kid is actually any good at an NHL level yet. He might be, but he might not. It's an older reality, but it checks out.
