Expansion draft and league-wide wheeling and dealing

Yes.  That's the one.  The 3rd best center on the team that is more valuable on the wing in that role.  Perfect example.

He's developed into a terrific winger.  There is no need for backward steps now.

And in '87 the 'Nucks had Super Mario on Wayne's wing vs the Russkies. The team was better for moving their 2nd best C to W so their 2 best players could be on the ice together.

Not sure if the best lineup for Buffalo is 3C's, Sam on Jack's wing,or running O'Reichel. Definitely willing to give Jack & Ryan a look together & also looking at Sam on 3rd line (& 2nd). Sooooo miffed that Goober never let us see how those might work. So, let's experiment now.

It took Sedin until he was 25 to have a season in which he scored as many points as Sam did this year. Sedin was not fast, Sedin was cerebral.

No reason to trade Sam at 21, and no reason to not let him play a LOT of time at center to see if he can figure it out, while he's still 21.

Twenty one.

I legitimately don't understand this.

Canadians, man. They can try as hard as possible to stay away from the grit n' grind, enforcing, good ol' canadian boy culture, but it always wins in the end. Apparently even when they win two cups in a row doing the exact opposite.

It's also why not-quite-good-enough Canadian defensemen get their Norris trophies because of the years they had to wait for one, and not because they were the best defenseman that year. Can't let that Karlsson have too many. Shea Weber, you're next.

Pierre, just now: If you want to mess with the stars on Pittsburgh, you'll have to go through Ryan Reaves.

Except, ya know, when he's scratched for every playoff game?

So they're the first team to win back to back cups in over a decade, and they're thought is to completely change their style of play? After Crosby has had 4 concussions?

Bowman and Rutherford had better have been high today

It's just one goon, dude.

Although I hear Reaves is giving Sid private lessons.

They aren't going to choose Sam over ROR for long passes though.

No doubt he's improved. He's still trying unseat two centers that are better than him, and he's not dynamic enough to be as effective with our 3rd line wingers as he is on Jack's wing.

"We just think he can fit well within our group of dynamic players such as Jack Eichel, Ryan O’Reilly and Sam Reinhart within the next couple years." - Jason Botterill in the Buffalo News

Well, at least our GM thinks Sam is dynamic.

In all honesty, it made me happy to read this quote.

Me too.

Him and the coach have finally had time to sit down and start reviewing players. He's getting the big picture now, and not just using league known names... Molson, Ennis.
