BPA ? Hello Owen Tippett!

Great, then we can trade him in 3 years (IF he pans out) for a defensive prospect that might be able to contribute a few years after that.

Also, Tippett can't pass the puck, or play defence. Hard pass.

Denis Smirnov.  Looks interesting.

Jbot said drafting for position is difficult.  That doesn't mean it's not a factor in the creation of his list.  Even if it isn't a high priority, strict adherence to BPA in the internal list will lead to failure because the difference between players ranking a minuscule and if you continually draft forwards, you end up with little else (see TM).

Remember with prospects, developing D are worth more then developing forwards and goaltenders.  I would much rather overload my system with D because they are great currency.  Look at the recent Seth Jones trade, the Sergachev trade yesterday and the teams lining up to get Vatanen and Brodin and DeHaan etc....

Sadly, TM decided all we needed was RW's .

Struggled vs. better competition, is small and i read one scout call him "chubby". Very skilled and smart player though, wouldnt be a bad 6th or 7th round pick.

Bob McKenzie on the radio in Vancouver today mentioned there's a strong sense the Avalanche are leaning Cale Makar at 4.

Craig Button had Liljegren mocked to Arizona at 7. Would  you trade up to get him at 6?

Dallas is open to trading the third pick. Would you pay a steep price to get in front of Colorado to get Makar or Heiskenen?

Updated draft tiers

1- Patrick & Hischier - I expect Hischier goes no.

2- Vilardi, Heiskanen, Makar, Middlestadt, & Glass - don't expect any of these 5 to fall to us at 8

3- Tippett, Petterson, Necas & Liljegren - take Liljegren at 8 and be happy?

4- Tolvanen, Suzuki, & Andersson

5- Rasmussen, Vesalainen, Valimaki, Kostin and Brannstrom - anyone in tiers 4 & 5 could go anywhere from top 10 to 22

6- Foote, Yamamoto, Poehling - last 3 with near unanimous support

7- Hague, Radcliffe, Vaakanainen and Thomas - appeared on 75% of the rankings 15 rankings I reviewed

8- Roberson, Oettinger, Norris, Timmins, Jokiharju and Bowers - appeared on 50 to 75% of the rankings.

9- Comtois, Lind, Chytil, & Davidsson - one of these could easily slip to us early in the 2nd rd. 1/3 of the rankings.

If Heiskanen goes at #3, Makar #4 and Liljegren #5 that bumps players. Vegas I think goes for the best center left. That leaves Arizona who will be interesting to see and then us. We could get a really solid forward prospect at #8

Not in this draft.

THAT looks pretty acCurate - I`d be tempted to put Heiskanen in the top tier. All signs for him going 3rd.

Im in the Minority but I still take Tippett over Liljegren in this scenario. Liljegren seems like a real roll of the dice to me and the Sabres cant afford to miss.
