I cancelled my prior subscript and allowed the end date to pass. I was offered to re-subscribe at $19.99 for one year - which I did. I then cancelled the subscript so it would not auto renew in 2024 - they then offered me a reduced price for the 2024 renewal ($24). Which I also accepted. So i got 24 months for $44 and I just have to remember to cancel the subscript prior to auto renewal in summer of 2025. Which is worth it in my opinion.

He was a leading player for Slovakia’s U18 team this season, which went to the semifinals at the worlds. Strbak was a top-four defenseman on the Slovakia team that won silver at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky. He made Slovakia’s 2022 world junior team as a 16-year-old and was a big part of the club that got Slovakia promoted at the U18 level last spring. He is committed to Michigan State University. Analysis: Strbak is a defense-first defenseman. He’s a tall, right shot who is mobile and makes a lot of stops due to his reach, feet, physicality and excellent compete level. He brings a strong effort every night, and coaches tend to lean on him in tough situations. I don’t see him as a legit scorer and puck-mover in the NHL, but he’s good enough with the puck, can skate pucks up, and can make enough plays to survive at higher levels. He’s a 6-foot-3 forward who can move very well for his size and has legit offensive skills. The way he can pull pucks by opposing defensemen while moving at a fast pace looks like an NHL forward. He plays a direct style and with his frame plus speed can get to the net very well. I don’t think he’s overly physical, but he has some bite in him, gets to the net, and coaches tend to lean on him. Wahlberg’s biggest issue is a lack of vision and so-so decision making with the puck. Wahlberg played center in the J20 level but played wing with Sweden’s U18 team and in the SHL. I had this issue in my browser as well, especially when clicking a link to a story from twitter or somewhere else. I figured out I had to click the "open in app" button - which is always logged in as me.

I second this - I generally go without a live TV provider. But when there is something I would like to watch that I need it for (Bills game on ESPN or the NBA playoffs on TNT) I have signup for Sling for a month.

I've been a subscriber since day one always re-upping with deals like this. I love their NFL draft coverage. I use their site to follow the Cleveland Guardians and the MLB in general. I also use their fantasy baseball info at draft time and throughout the season. And I read their Bills and Sabres coverage with Buscaglia and Fairburn. I also like Pronman's NHL prospects coverage. I hope it sticks around and none of that is affected because I really enjoy The Athletic.

Agreed, I think they've had some success bringing in mid-range/short term types. I would prefer Daquan Jones, Tim Settle, Jordan Phillips and one other of that type than sign Oliver to a bloated contract long term.
