GMTM has fired his best player and publicly called him a pussee. (Yes. That is what happened.) 12 Million dollars, and he doesn't give a ######. He's a pussee. GMTM just redefined Hockey Heaven in 3 months. Murray Heaven is going to be ###### ruthless. Murray Heaven is going to be a place where the denizens are willingness to bleed. Murray Heaven is grit in all zones. Murray Heaven is size from the goal out. Murray Heaven is a place where the boss is pretty sure you didn't work very hard today. He did receive an asset, an option on up to an additional $10MM in cap space in ~6 years plus he now has $4MM in cap space freed for those 6 years. Not a lot of value on the $4MM this year, but it'll have value down the road and that option may just be what prevents the events of 7/1/7 from recurring on 7/1/20. First of all, it should be clear to anyone now - This team HAD no assets left. Pure and simple. Anyone remotely worth anything went at the deadline. If there were any takers for Ehrhoff whatsoever, don't you think he would've been gone then? Getting an expensive d-man, who doesn't want to be part of a rebuild, and comes with an imminent threat of a cap penalty, both off the books and off the roster is not mismanaging an "asset", it's handling a cluster###### you didn't create, but have been given the task to clean up after. So much so that he's willing to pay two guys $19.3M to be right the ###### out I'd like to see how these prospects develop before I go "all in" on Murray, because that'll tell about his draft prowess and his system of player development, which are crucial. It's a good point, but if Darcy did it he would have presented it like a puss with excuses or spin. GMTM did it like a boss, with confidence and ready to take on anyone questioning it.
