True. IMO opinion a challenge should only be an option if the offside directly led to a goal like on a stretch pass or two-on-one. If the offensive team has the puck in the zone for more than five seconds, there should be no right to challenge an offsides.

Are they really playing inspired? I linked to an article on the previous page that explains it in more detail but the cliff note version is: unsustainable goal tending and scoring numbers, they rarely carry play, and are generally outshout by ridiculous margins. As anti-tank as I am, the numbers all point to them falling back to earth relatively soon.

I agree with what you're saying. But scratching Strachan and not Meszaros to dress Benoit tells me Ted's in on it. Okay, not really, but it sure seemed to me that Strachan earned another game a helluva lot more than Meszaros did.
